What does "imp. Upgrade Level" and "Ascension imp. Upgrade Level" do?

As the title reads.
I can not find any clue on what these do and how much of an impact these have.

Took this from one of my other responses. Hope it helps.

Ascension Improvement Menu -
Ascension imp upgrade level : Ascension Improvements get bonus levels while equipped

Challenge Improvement Menu -
Challenge imp. (base level) : Base level is boosted by x%
Challenge imp. (defense level) : Base defense is boosted by x%
Challenge imp. (strenght level) : Base Strength is boosted by x%
Worker exp for challenge imp : Workers generate x% more experience

Improvement Menu -
Imp upgrade level : Improvements get bonus levels while equipped

These bonuses can be combined with craft bonuses to really push your challenges much further.
