Hyper Light Breaker

Hyper Light Breaker

Update is nice but....
While the update is nice, the game runs smoother, and my god is it so much more enjoyable playing with a mouse and keyboard, where I can actually use guns at my disposable. There's still so much more that needs adjusting.

The game needs to have a scaling system based on how many players are currently in a run. I've just done another solo run, and there are still FAR too many monsters than drop from the sky, and way still the main enemy that is incredibly unfair, the Elite Gunner who auto-tracks you with a three round shot, then as soon as you get close, or run out of ammo yourself forcing you to get close, it's almost entirely impossible to dodge the shotgun spread from their gun. I honestly don't mind them doing it, but it feels like they can just spam the move, and they need to have a little-bit of a cooldown on their shotgun-spread shots, as it stands now, there's no reason in order to fight these enemies unless you have ammo, you'll just end up wasting too much health taking, or trying to take them out. At least with some of the optimisation, and being able to use mouse and keyboard (properly), a lot of the enemies have become bearable.

Medkits are something that really needs to be a thing players start out with. Why on earth is this one of the first things we can upgrade to hold more Medkits, if we don't even start off with any? I wouldn't even mind Medkits being non-existent, but the amount of health items, and how much they heal you (5 HP per plant) are way too far, and few in between, and they should probably do a LOT more healing.

And I'm absolutely STILL clueless as to what to do with those "Meteor" zones in the game. They seemingly randomly show up when I'm heading to an area to get a Prism, but the only thing I get is a giant field that I'm sure will kill me, or damage me once the "Warning" meter fills up. Not only that if you're supposed to destroy something, or and enemy inside, why isn't it super obvious as to what exactly I'm supposed to be doing with those?

One other thing that "really" bothers me with this game, is why is there some items, I can store in the Cache, which so far look like items you can use ie; grenades, "aura's" etc, etc. Yet, I can't store anything else? The durability system is fine, I can live with it, but it kind of feels pointless running around, and having all these random drops that once you've got a pretty solid build, you can't do anything with them at all, but just ignore most, if not ALL the drops on the map, because you can't store them, or scrap them for currency. It's kind of a silly system, and you're really just wasting the players time. I would absolutely love to be able to Cache everything, or at the very least, scrap it for currency I can use at the shops to buy weapons and stuff for a new run, at least then finding these drops, and going after weapons/rail guns would feel a little more worth my time. It feels kind of pointless that I can just extract whenever I want, but there's literally no point in it, unless I want to save/store a weapon I'm currently holding onto.

Which is another thing I've noticed I can't do before a run. It seems like I can freely change perks around, but if I want to start a brand new run with nothing, it doesn't look like I can store them, and go back to having nothing equipped, I may have just missed the ability to do so, but if I have good perks equipped, and I just want to test something out, like just before the runs I did to check out the updates, I don't want to risk them breaking, because I don't have any other perks I can swap out, instead I'd rather just be able to store them before a run starts.

The meteor zones disappear when you Extract or when you die and Rez. They're basically just an incentive to go back top the hub for a breather.

You actually CAN bank your Holobytes in the hub, but you have to do it from the loadout menu on the pad. Simply highlight the Holobyte you want to store, click on it/press A to bring up the Holobyte vault, find the one you want to store (it'll be grayed out a bit because it is equipped), and click it. This will unequip it and place it back in your vault for a future run.

Because the upgrade lets you hold one, which is more than zero! :D

Im with you on literally all of these points. And there's about 100 other things to address beyond these, too. Maybe we need an Early, Early Access category.

I mean, barring the missing graphical options, this is literally what early access is for. You pay the devs to have EARLY access to an unfinished, unbalanced, and unpolished product.

I can agree mostly.

There's far too many enemy " ambushes" and random enemy spawns happening frequently.
They can certainly stand to be toned down some if a player is solo.

I think the meteor zones just keep you pushed out of areas on your current run, if you spend too long on a run it seems more of them appear and you'll be more keen on extracting if you have less access to getting more equipment cached for later runs. They disappear if you extract or die.

Nice to know about Meteor zones, thanks.

Sadly, there is no way through the loadout Menu, or maybe I'm just stupid, to actually just "Unequip" holobytes. Though, I have noticed the UI/HUD bugs out sometimes not showing me certain buttons to be pressed, or stuff needed to unlock things.

But I've tried clicking E, F, Holding down left click, right click, etc, etc. There does not appear to be a way through the loadout, or Vault Menu to unequip your Holobytes.

Also the Meteor Zones should NOT be able to block you out of boss zones. Just did a run, where literally the boss zone that required two prisms was inside a meteor zone....

There should be limitations on where they can spawn. At first I thought it was just the Prisms, which fine, that's totally okay, and would make me want to extract. But it's seemingly random, on top of locations that require keys to open, on top of railguns, items, and weapons. Half ways through the run/difficulty meter, almost everything is blocked off by a Meteor.

Also just got the difficulty gauge maxed out, and enemies dropped non-stop, and sometimes just teleported in front of me without a drop. Thankfully the Extraction Zone shielded them off before they could kill me, but still, that's a bit much for Solo... you end up running, or dying, those are your options at that point, because if at any point you stop, you're surrounded by 50+ enemies.
"the main enemy that is incredibly unfair, the Elite Gunner who auto-tracks you with a three round shot, then as soon as you get close, or run out of ammo yourself forcing you to get close, it's almost entirely impossible to dodge the shotgun spread from their gun. You have to wait do dodge until you see the little square telegraph that shows up at the barrel of their gun when its time to dodge. And the 3 or 4 part long shot you can either side strafe or ride the hover board to avoid.

I'm not saying the game has perfect telegraphing for every attack. But, this elite kicked my ass and then I figured him out. So, hopefully this helps you.

IDK if your just making stuff up. but this does NOT work. the only way to STORE them would be to buy some from the shop and swap them out. There is no way to empty a slot other than dying

Edit: i dont know how to quote properly

Yeah... turns out I totally misremembered that one from last night. When I logged on tonight to confirm that... it turns out that what I'd done was just buy some trash Holobytes to swap out.

that's okay. Just something they should add into the game. Especially if someone is trying out something new, and doesn't want to buy new chips, and simply gather new ones instead of buying them.

Yknow, since the new update. Just fired it up for the first time and actually had my first enjoyable run. I dunno. Just seemed like things died easier and wasnt getting two shotted by a hundred enemies at once. Maybe just luck.
