Hyper Light Breaker

Hyper Light Breaker

Get rid of the durability system.
This is the main reason why I refunded, don't want to grind for the right items with the right affixes for the right characters for them to be deleted, way to tedious and frustrating.

Do you play any other roguelites? I feel like the durability system is a core and important part of the game. The game would be over way too quickly and easily if you just kept everything you ever picked up.

I play a lot of other roguelites yes, IDK why it bothers me so much here. It find it very unfair I would prefer having no shops no way to invest all the ressources to upgrade or find nice gear, but instead finding them in the world, and yes, loosing them when you die, I feel like the investement is frustrating for nothing and only brings the feeling of loosing hard earned gear, IDK if you get my point, loosing progress acquired in a run is totally fine, but this choice of crafting things that you can loose makes me mad ahah

the game has extraction mechanics, and like that genre commonly the extraction shooter, losing your gear its a common thing, see games like Sulfur for example. its a core mechanic that the devs want for this game and i have no issue, but you need to understand what genre this game has

I agree, yet I've not met this level of frustration in any other roguelites extractions, I played ROR2 (not very extraction but since it's getting compared a lot with it), Witchfire, Gatekeeper, all of them have the same mecanics and purpose, in witchfire for example, once I've crafted my weapons and their upgrades, I keep them, I only loose what I acquire in the run.
Yea I agree with op. losing your weapon on your first life and half your items on your second is frustrating. There was a few runs where on my 4th life i had no items at all.. so might as well just die again.

Let's go!
Tbh this actually encourages me to try other builds.

Edit: Works!

just tried that and it does not work, sadly. Only takes away the display and animation of losing your durability, but you still definitely lose it, and items still break. But now you have to guess instead of selling with 1 pip left!

Die enough times to lose something, you'll still lose it.

Oh how cool. Does it actually work or is it as LordDraco3 says, it just removes the display?

upon further testing, it seems to work with things you pick up after installing the mod, but old items you already had will break. Which sucks because i had an items that healed on every crit, and the rest of my gear was all +crit :( Most staying power i ever had so far by a longshot.

This actually seems like one of the things that is cool about this game tbh.

And I assume old items include those in the vault? Bummer, but I can hold off for more patches. Im gonna wipe my save anyway.
