Right at the start how much does my choice of dark or light path matter?

I chose dark but does this dramatically impact my play through?

it changes which mushrooms you work with (The Grand or The Cursed), and it changes which dialogue choice it puts on the top (aka the spot you can immediately hit enter)

Your skills also change and what you get for being 100% of each side (the lower bar in morality). the game is kinda meant to be played twice i think. not through yet, but it seems/feels like you can not get all skill in one playthrough.

Neither of those are affected by your starting choice. Those can change at any point in the game just by moving your morality bar

It does appear that this game is meant to be played 2 times, and this is awesome to know.

Also its good to know that when given a choice, if I cannot figure out which one alligns with the morality I want, I can just pick the top one.

Just a quick thing to help. Anything that involves helping the Ant Queen is evil. Anything that involves helping Mr. Larva is good
