Nergal helped me discover Behemoth, too. If you're into metal you will probably love the music of Behemoth (even if you are not a Satanist).

I mean, the voice acting maybe is not that bad overall, but the TEXT and script are 100% bad. Whoever decided to add american style voices\text to Slavic mythology - they are all stupid.
Ofc for non-slavic gamer there's no matter how characters sounds like, but as Slavic person myself I hate developers decidion about all this stuff.
And I don't understand why they did what they did. Developers are from Poland. Slavic country. There's even no polish voice in the game. (Edit: I mean, as an option in the settings. Boboks speak Polish, yes)
Well, of course they could have added a polish voice-over, for player choice that is,
because if everything would have been polish, most people wouldn't play it.
The choice of having a english voice-over is quite obvious and logical, because the majority of players speak or at least understand english. - Sure there are enough people who don't, and complain about not having THEIR language as a voice over (or at least subtitles) but yea.
Also, though it says the voice actress of Yaga is based in LA, her pronounciation really sounded british to me, which I highly enjoyed.
Anyhow, about your main complain, I get it, to some extent. I hate it when hearing german-speaking characters, voice-overs or actors, speaking in HORRIBLE german, because they decided to use english native-speakers instead.
But then again, that's mainly for a couple characters, which is probably less than 10% of the voice-lines.
Having the whole game in a language most people wouldn't understand makes simply no sense. But as I said before, yes they could have added a polish VO for example. Maybe they can add some later on as a (free) DLC, if they made enough money, because you don't have to forget, Voice Actors also have to get paid for their work.
Also, maybe they did it better in the Polish localization but chose to do it this way only for enUS?
Not for the ant queen, no. Quite ridiculous, that one.
Yaga and The Voice are superb.
Some of the side characters are more or less okay :)
Why an American accent? Why does Yaga have a "British" accent? America, England, Canada and India each have so many sub-dialects individually, so it's really hard to pinpoint "English" to a certain universally agreed-upon dialect. In any case it's a small studio and they used what actors they could find. /shrug
I do know a generalized/non-regional American accent when I hear one. This is the American accent most national TV personalities will use in the States, because it's region non-specific (not southern/SE US ya'll, not New England, not New Jersey or New York, not upper Midwest like Fargo, ND).
I agree; I come from the Midwest USA too, and it's very plain sounding without my Grandparents around to "warsh the windas" and answer "yello" to the phone. It's the kind of thing I would expect to hear in a modern day world set in the USA.
I would have liked more immersive voice acting, but I am hoping they'll have more amazing stuff in the sequel.
my dad still does the 'warsh', so i'm with you there. he also berated us kids for 'wrastlin' all the time.
