BAT installation guide help

Hello, I would like to get a deep guide on how to install the BAT mod.

I installed first Red Core, Than Blue Edge, than Bat v4.2.1 update with the Bat 4.2.1 + Hotfix.

Yes my game is on the beta v.x.12 something..
I can launch the game by hit "start" on steam. And on IL-2 selecter.
Both loads fine into Main menu. But when I go on Quick mission or any and than hit "Fly".
It says something about data corrupt. when I load a campaign, I get to 100% loading and the game crashes.

Either the steps in the bat sites are too messy or I am really bad.

What I exactly did step by step:

1. Downloaded IL-2 1946 on steam.
2. Changed Beta to v.x.12.. (the version u need for BAT and other mods to work.)
3. I changed the config file to what the BAT RED CORE have made. (copy pasted)
4. I changed NAVIDIA settings to what RED CORE gave tip on. (all this on the same topic the RED CORE mod can be downloaded from)
5. I downloaded the mod from the .torrent file they provided.
6. I downloaded BLUE EDGE .torrent file at same time.
7. While downloading I figured I could just download the BAT v4.2.1 updater + hotfix as-well.
8. I placed all zip files in their own folder. So RED CORE Zip files was in "RED CORE" Folder, BLUE EDGE zip files in "BLUE EDGE" folder and the same with BATv4.2.1 with it 2 files in "BATv4.2.1" folder.
9. I run the installer file on RED CORE (Step 1) I located IL-2 1946 root directory and made it install there. As they told me to do.
10. when it was completed, I went to BLUE EDGE (Step 2) and started the installer file.
11. BUT! here I was unsure... Cause it says: "Point it to your BAT 4.0 folder" Well.. I do not have any 4.0 folder... So I assumed I could just place it in IL-2 root directory that as-well.
12. Finished with that. I went to Step 3. Installed BAT v4.2.1 Update +hotfix. There too I got confussed, because it says: "Deactivate all JSGME mods for saftey" What does this mean? I assumed something could be running and checked taskbar. But found nothing so I installed it to IL-2 root directory. It does say "direct the extraction into your BAT install" what that mean, I dunno. I assumed it ment were the rest of BAT was installed (IL-2 1946 root directory)
13. I started the IL-2 Selector and changed the ram to max and saved.
14. I started IL-2 by the IL-2 Selector.

And it loaded fine to Main menu (the BAT logo's and all that showed.) But when I went to Quick mission or Campaign. It was data corrupt or game rash at 100% loading.

Please help with this. I really would like to play the game with BAT.

same and for me the campaigns dont show at all and some planes don't show on the object viewer im reinstalling it rn

also maybe change the ram to smaller i heard too much ram causes problems

I didnt mention: Max tolerated RAM. I have not turned the RAM to max on advanced settings.

I read through your process and, while I think your logic is sound, your mistake may have been installing everything all at once before running the game. I believe you have to run the red core first to build the basic game files?

JSGME is the mod enabler utility. I think that part means to disable the mods using the utility before proceeding to the next step.

okay, so I first have to install the red core and than I go to JSGME and activate the WOW mod. Than I start the game and check it works?

And if it does I can install next part? and check them as-well step by step?

Because u are right, I did not start the game while I installed everything.
But I will go try this right away.

Here is what happend Step by step:

2. Copy IL-2 1946 steam root folder to IL-2 1946 BAT folder.
3. Installed Red Core.
4. Started JSGME and selected WAW_SCREEN_BAT to "Activated mods"
5. Started IL-2 selector
6. On IL-2 Selector I went to Setting and turned the RAM to max 1024MB
7. Saved and clicked Start to play.
8. Loading and all went fine.
9. Main menu -> quick mission -> Date: Nill and data error corrupt massage when I hit fly.

So I still get the error. So I still need help with this.

It is pritty hillorius. Because I did exactly the same as he did and still he got the date up and could fly but not me...

I am getting on my nerves here.

YESS, got it to work.

Step by step:
1. Create folder on #:/Il-2 1946 BAT/ (you can name it what u want. and # what driver u want.
2. Copy IL-2 1946 steam root folder to /Il-2 1946 BAT/ folder.
3. Install Red Core (Make sure to install it in Il-2 1946 BAT folder.)
4. Install Blue Edge (Il-2 1946 BAT folder)
5. Install Flashpoint (Il-2 1946 BAT folder)
6. Install BAT 4.2.1 Update (Il-2 1946 BAT folder)
7. Install BAT 4.2.2 Update (Il-2 1946 BAT folder)
8. Change to the resolution you wish to have in the Config file located in Il-2 1946 BAT folder.
9. Open JSGME.exe and turn on:
- TGA_SCREEN-SCW
- WAW_SCREEN_SWOTL
- DEF-SKIES_#DOF3
- DEF-SKIES_#JTW3
- DEF-SKIES_#TGA3
- DEF-SKIES_#WAW3
- JTW_SCREEN-70S
10. Open IL-2 selector.exe and open settings
11. Change RAM usage to 1024MB.
12. hit save.
13. now click Start IL-2 now!
14. game loads and should now work fine. (if the Nill show on date in quick mission builder.) Than change map and than back. should fix it.

From here I experiance some minor lagg spikes. I will try figure out how to fix this as-well.

all you have to do to fix the "data corrupt" is put all of the info for the mission (aka map and situation i forgot what its called but the thing with scramble airbase bridge etc

on the SAS forums there is a good guide[www.sas1946.com] and all i had to do to get it running is set ram to 1200mb, hope this helps!
(using Debian 12 on a intel i5 (forgot gen) and a 2070 super)
