does the steam version work on windows 7 64bits?
im thinking of buying this game so as the title says. i have the original il2 and il2 pacific fighters but those wont work on windows 7. so does the steam version of il2 1946 work on windows 7 64 bits? and please say nothing about gog, im not going to buy the game right now and i dont thrust gog very much...

Well then...I don't know what to tell you. I have Windows 7 64 bit. As you can see, I have the steam version, and had to many issues. I got the GOG Version on a recommendation, problem solved. There's a reason everyone is saying GOG. GOG is just better at older games then Steam.

I and many of my friends have retail version of il2 series i never seen anyone having a problem running on windows 7 64 bit.

I bet the problem is from your windows maybe you have something isnt right because the game works without tweak on win7.

There are bunch of official patches the latest one is v4.12.1

The Steam version is moddable also, im not sure about GoG version.

Running Windows 7, 64-bit without issue. Steam version with and without HSFX patches. I've never had any issues.

well i had to format my hard drive and install windows again and it still doesent work. you must be speaking about another il2, i have the original one and pacific fighters and they dont work. i googled my issue and the only solution is to buy il2 1946...

Thats strange because i own every classic il2 game, il2 sturmovik + forgotten battles + ace expansion + pacific fighters, every single of them worked without a tweak on win7, maybe your install is broken or did you even try to patch it?

how do i patch it witouth installing it? because the setup.exe just doesent open.
