If you're willing to buy used, my personal favorite is the the Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2 Joystick. They've been out of production for years but they were built tough. I bought my first one brand new and played it for five years before losing it in a move. I replaced it with a thrift store copy more than ten years ago and that one is still my primary joystick. I've picked up a couple more Sidewinder 2's just in case my current stick breaks down. I can confirm this joystick works in Windows 10 with IL-2 1946 as well as FSX, P3D, DCS, War Thunder, IL-2 Cliffs of Dover and IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad, and even Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty WWII.
