Can i play il2 with a ps4 controller? And if so, how do I do it?

I would like to know if I can play with a ps4 controller, because playing with a keyboard and mouse is very annoying, and if it can be played with a ps4 controller, how do I do it and configure it? (I'm using Google translate, I speak Spanish, if there's a spelling mistake I'm sorry)

this game is unplayable without a Joystick. the PS controller also doesn't have enough buttons too. just buy a cheap Joystick near your pawn or off craigslist. any joystick will do

the one above was my first ever joystick. i used to play FSX nonstop back in 2010 with that one and from my experience you're not buying cheap crap. my dad bought it for me used in 2007 and it lasted all the way into 2020

Interesting, I have that one, and flight control is terrible. I have to push the stick forward a lot to keep it level, but sideways movement (turns) are fair too rapid. I was about to post about this problem and yes, I've calibrated it several times.

I don't think it's a problem with the joystick. The plane always wants to go up, even when I was trying to play with WASD controls

The aircraft is rising because it isn't trimmed. I have trim mapped to my NUMPAD keys so that the #8 key adds nose down trim. Reducing throttle should also cause the nose to level out a little.

Literally can play perfectly fine with mouse and keyboard, Takes a little getting used to sure but honestly i had this game sitting in my library for YEARS because everybody had a stick up they bum hole about getting a joystick that i couldnt afford.
Conculusion. You don't need a joystick, OR controller. Just need some skill :)

A playstation controller should work fine.
Idk what these people are on about with it not going to work, but a gamepad is certainly a step up from mouse and keyboard.
If the game doesnt recognize the ps4 controller then I would just google to see if someone has tried it.

I used a knock off Ps3 controller to play this game before...it does work,but not a good experience.You might need UJR to map the thumb sticks to joystick axis if you really want to play that way.But I would strongly recommend getting a joystick
