Bat vs cup vs SAS

What's the difference between all these mods and which one should I use if I want the best experience?

CUP turned into BAT. Not familiar with SAS.

guys from SAS are creating CUP and BAT mod packs
there is also a ModACT (mod activator), from SAS (and so it's called "SAS ModACT"), which is for installing individual mods (it's part of CUP and BAT, the mod packs won't work without it)

Hmmm what mega patch?
I mean 4.12.2 is basically where you start at.
No mega patch.

1. Clean vanilla 4.12.2
2. BAT Base Mod
And then all the expensions in the correct order
