IL2 1946 not launching Windows10

I have windows 10 and when I tried to launch after I downloaded it, it never launches, it says running and then syncing and nothing happens. If someone knows how to fix this, I will rebuy it. I would love to play that game!!!

No cause i dont use steam for this game, i just downloaded it via steam
Go into the gamefolder of il2 and try launching by clicking on il2fb.exe

1. go to IL - 2 1946 folder and delete everything manually.
2. go to steam and unninstall 1946,
3. install IL - 2 1946 once it's downloaded do not lauch it,
4. go to the folder again and set the compatibility mode to windows Vista (Not XP service packs)
5. then go to your windows setting and set the DPI to 100 exactly 100.
6. launch your game.

All it is with 1946 is that the dpi scale ♥♥♥♥♥ up the functionability, set that to 100% and you should be good to go

DTI to 100 works. However, the map is just off the top of the screen and I cannot move it.

run the game in windowed at first with openGL and then set it fullscreen

My game wasn't working as well and I am trying to the same as well. Where do I find the windows compatible settings? I have a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 series laptop. Accidentally found them last time and forgot where I found them. Something comes to mind after launching click on a folder icon really fast at bottom of the screen in the bar with the internet icons alongside the windows task bar before it finishes loading where it changes the size of all the icons and screen size.

You right click the IL 1946 exe file (In the game folder) and right click - properties - compatibility - and you set it.

How do I access the IL-2 1946 exe file? Not familiar with this.

Right click IL 2 1946 on steam then properties and then press local files and game location or whatever its called you'll know, and it will take you to the game's folder where you can follow the tips I gave you

I'll try to Google it also. I think it has something to do with my laptop. I have it on physical disk on Vista and steam versions on 8.1 and 10 used to have on Vista with steam as well. And had to reinstall from disk after it quit working.

Yeah I've got a 1050ti also, have you changed the dpi scaling to 100 yet?

Exit out of that one and click on the il2 set icon it will say driver/video/joystick/sound/network think I chose 800×600 32 bit on video I used maximum settings for settings. Click ok. Then I went to 4_12_2-version 4.12..2 I clicked it and didn't see the il2set but il2fb I exited out and turned betas off. Let it update again. Make sure you verify the files. When you make changes. Click game this this time and go into the setup button in game and choose your best screen settings in video mode. Mine is 1920x1080x32 yours might be different than mine. I'm using a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 gaming laptop with i5 7300hq processor. Hope this helps. Also have it in full screen not windowed.

Just wanted to say Thank You! Man,I tryed for 3 days to get this old gem up and running,,went through pages of fixes to get her to run under win10. Did exactly what you prescribed and BOOM,she took off! SALUTE SIR!!!!

To get IL 2 1946 running on windows 10, I have to go into the steam app, and then click and play from there, and that seems to work for me, I can't get it to work out of that though, so maybe try downloading steam.
