Mouse and Keyboard Control?

When I first bought the IL2 1946 I thought it would be like Warthunder were you can use you mouse and keyboard (WASD). I soon found out that I can only use the arrow keys and every time I press one of the keys it jerks my plane and almost puts me into a stall. So in conclusion, is there any possible way I can use my mouse or download a script? If that is not an option can someone recommend me a good joystick.

Unlike Warthunder, IL-2 1946 is a simulator (even though it is pretty old by today's standards) but still it is more simulator compared to Warthunder, it is recommended to play with a joystick, there are nice entry level joysticks around $60-100 if you are into flight games.

Thank you for answering my question. I did some research and I found one on amazon. I'm not quite sure if the joystick works with IL-2.

il-2 can see alot of different devices, like racing wheels and such so that stick should have no problem.
