Frankly Speaking, this is one of the best combat simulators I have ever flown. However, the graphics are nowhere near as good as the game itself. Is there any way the graphics can be improved? Are the creators going to bring out a graphics update? However, even if there isn't a way to clean them up, I would still keep using this simulator.

sweetfx is one way

some mods such as VP's modpack and C.U.P./ B.A.T do some things to the graphics, and as Tron said try sweetfx. in my opinion sweetfx will give you a far greater effect color wise then the mods will.

take a peek at my il-2 screenshots if you would like, they are sweet fx vs stock comparisons, it will give you an idea of what you can do with some tinkering.

How hard is SweetFX to use? I've looked a little online, and its pretty impressive.

depends i got reshade 2.03, its pretty well sweetfx as far as i know just with a easy to use menu, instead of having to tweak it inside of a file. with this all i had to do was install it or move it some where. make a profile for il-2, then a preset, then add one of the shaders and fired up il-2. once you load il-2 you should see it's loading shaders from reshade/sweetfx in the top right corner.

Wow, is it that easy?? So Reshade is easier ill be going that way. I get lost when the tweaking happens in files. I'll have a look for the latest Reshade then

Alright thanks for the help. Oh yeah, and one more thing, I thought you might be interested in one thing, its a game called Rise Of Flight, its on Steam, and it's free, but to play it properly you need to purchase DLCs. Thanks again

yeah i have already tried ROF a long time ago, great game but i use mouse look for my flight games as i have no trackir, and once a plane or two got killed my mouse would lagg horribly making it impossible to look about.(doesnt help i got a poor pc but the fps was above 30 and the mouse would skip). plus i just love my hurricane too damn much to hop into a glorified kite again :P but thanks for the reminder may have to look into it again maybe my problem has been fixed.

So which fx do I select? It brings up a list, I'm not really sure

if it's for the shaders in reshade jsut click on a couple and start il-2 too see if it works (you will see it in the top left of the screen)
