Planet Destroyer Research Issue

So I found the Planet Destroyer pretty quick and picked up the 2 technologies "Super Beams" and of course the "planet Destroyer" tech itself.

Well fast forward to the point that I complete the Planet destroyer tech, I'm extremely excited to be able to skip so many unresearched techs and avoid having to ever even bother building any Cruiser or Colossal fleet ships at all if I don't want to. However, there is an issue. I can not see the Planet Destroyer anywhere in my ship designs or at any bases or planets. I even waited for the advisor to suggest I build one, but they haven't. Is it because I have not researched some of the other techs like "Large Scale Construction" or any of the techs on that research tier or past it?

I'd like to tell you a little about how and why I played the way I did first. I had focused on my economy, colonization, and rapid solar system exploration by just visiting each solar system without scanning a single thing. This allowed me to find independent colones and abandon ships and bases rapidly and then I would only scan those planets to see what resources they can trade and I can take once they were colonized. That also allowed me to build my population like crazy since these colones would usually already have a large population and I would try to focus on the ones with at least 1000k pop first. The last thing I would like to mention is that I would try to focus on the techs that increase your research speed as fast as I could. So with all that said I was able to find the Planet Destroyer very fast and I hadn't researched a whole lot of techs before I completed the Planet destroyer research.

I had only tried to play through the game once before and I had found the planet destroyer then too, but then the Fn hive came up, 1 from a pirate base and then 3 from a random planet.. I did not think about editing them out so since they ruined me I decided to restart and played the way I did in order to straight up find this planet destroyer AGAIN, research it and build the MF as fast as I can before the hive showed up again.. and I succeeded in researching it... but now I can't even build it because of some glitch????? I was going to post some snap shots of how the "Planet Destroyer" looks in the research menu, but I can't seem to figure out how to add it to this post. I will add some pics if I can figure out how to add them to this discussion. When I put my mouse over the tech icon it doesn't have a picture of the Planet Destroyer at all which I am pretty sure is where the issue begins.

All I know is that I replayed the whole game and played specifically to try to be able to build one of these Planet Destroyers and now its glitched. Someone please help.

Well the Hive showed up AGAIN and even though I have the Super Beam fully researched, I can not figure out how to put it on my Battleships.. So I guess the only way to get past this part is to cheat and edit it out which has made me lose hope and interest in this game all together.

Which version of the game did you start your game with?

Could you please share a save file with us? There's unfortunately no chance we can figure out what's going on without looking at a save.

The planet-destroying Super Beam can only fit (by design) on the Planet Destroyer ship hull.

Absolutely, how do I share it with you? I apologize, I'm new to posting on these discussions and really only posted on this one because I have been loving this game so much and really want it to work. So thank you so very much for responding to me. What you said about the Super Beam makes a lot of sense.
