When retire a vessel, check to see if there any good techs that you dont have and may comes in handy later on.
For the retired ship, you are getting advancement in tech (assuming its not bugged), just not getting entire techs or finishing them. A lot of salvaging results that way- you get partial advancement in the associated tech lines.
You also *tend* to get more advancement in techs you have already selected for research.
Retiring ships with tech you don't havetakes much longer. Its generally better to disassemble at more remote spaceports or at spaceports with multiple construction yards.
So probably no bugs aside from the abandoned ship event.
