Unknown item detected... you should explore at higher level
A bit overwhelmed by other aspects of the game, I always clicked DISSMIS and did nothing when saw such pop-out message:
Unknown item detected... you should explore at higher level

I assumed (don't know if it's right) that since there's something there (probably important), and since this window popped up, the first thing my fully auto exploring ships will do when they finish their current task is to go there and see what's there...

Or maybe I am wrong? And should do something manually? If so, what do you recommend?

Essentially the game is letting you know that they detected something on the object, but your explorations ships do not have powerful enough scanners to fully explore it.

Invest in planetary exploration scanners at some point.

The exploration level is the yellow number counting up in the planet view, it turns green eventually. The exploration scanners on ships initially only go up to 20 or so, but things can be hidden much deeper.
btw. the resource scanner on ships is for quick scanning of asteroid fields, without it can take a long time to check every single roid.
The other way to bring up the exploration level on planets besides better scanners is continued interaction through orbital bases or colonization, secrets will be revealed and I think there is a general random chance of completely new resources popping up even when they are not defined in the editor view.

I got many not updated Exploration ships, so maybe this one was not successful. Is there a list of those undiscovered (but important) places? I am asking as this pop-in window disappear soon...

Yes. At the top of the screen there are many tabs. One of those tabs is the Exploration Tab. It gives you a rundown of all the things.

...yes, and you can also see/read ALL of your messages (since game-start) by clicking on the envelope-symbol, just right of the main in-game menue and Galactopedia-symbol, in the upper right of your screen. :cybereye:

Incomprehensibly, the message log doesn't have a key assigned and the TAB key is vacant too :cozybrawlhalla1:
