This is on purpose; you can disable the "Fleet ship management" policy to prevent this.
Fleet try to synchronize their jumps, speed and attacks; disabled or damaged ships will hinder a fleet badly, so it's better to remove them, repair them, then add them back later.

Set your tanker tactics to evade enemies.
Thanks for the tip. I will try that.
But that will be lot of micro managing and time consuming trying to keep track of what disabled ships were in what fleet and to add them back one by one when no longer disabled.
