As for the name, Paragon The Overprime is new name. Netmarble already have permission from Epic Games to use that name. Previously titled Overprime.
While Predecessor I believe created by different developer from Russia? (sorry i forgot) and try to balance between heroes and the gameplay.
My impression after tried both at first beta, Predecessor is way better since it doesnt follow the path of Paragon itself and try to be different.
But maybe this game is almost done since they're entering the final beta. Might try again to see the differences. Downloading now.
The better option is to wait untill the Early access release of Predecessor (announcement here in a couple days promised to rel EA before end of year) its already done with the phase of testing overpriime is going through and is polished already and sticks to a moba style of gameplay and several developers from AAA studios Predecessor is the clear choice for true Paragon fans ( despite overprime acquiring the name to put in their title to try and trick old school fans of the game into playing)
Even if you have some constructive critic (really love the game and want to improve it) YOU will be punished. BeCaUsE dEvS kNowS BEtTeR aNd ThEY HaVe some oG DveLOpeR, SuTt uP!
P.S. Reddit groups are the worst (Pred and sadly OG Paragon). And if you'll check their discord - it's dead on water, too.
I don't get in on the "this one vs this one" debates, but looking at them both from a distance, Predecessor seems to have the better cast behind the scenes, and is focusing more on the longterm to put out a high quality produce expected from a AAA company. (even though they are technically an indie company). My money is on them longterm, but at the end of the day, I will play both of them when they are finished just to see, and wont play either of them if they arent up to standard.
Everyone has their own thing, Predecessor is aimed at the most conservative players, Overprime is innovation.
Now, with this new Over test, it is seen that the game is well optimized, the map changed, true, but it is not bad as they say above.
Have they forgotten that Paragon has already implemented a form of transfer from one side of the map to the other? Over did it too, and it's very successful, it gives more dynamism to the game.
Remember that Paragon died for not having a season pass, for not having good management of his store and to that we add that they left him aside for Fornite.
In short, each one has their own style, it is true that Over abuses the excesses of flashes, that will have to be fixed since after a while it bothers the eye a lot.
In the end, the game that prevails will only do so by the number of active players, simple as that.
Cheers
Playing Fault and now Overprime I have seen some toxics that I come across.
