Not trying to defend overprime in it's current state, but it is common knowledge that player counts dip across the board during winter holidays. Not sure where you are getting your numbers from. Lots of people traveling and not having access to their consoles/PC's. College students returning home for 2 weeks. All of gaming takes a dip during the Winter holidays except maybe mobile phone games.
"Only games that have noticeable dips are AAA competitor games in FPS."
Tell me i'm right while still trying to tell me i'm wrong. Each year is different. Doesn't change that dips occur. Did you cross reference games on sale with player counts as well? You'll notice a trend.
Just another moderately fun game declining into obscurity. I'm sad for its future. It is not looking to great ahead.
You do realize that the first officially launched Moba was league dated 2009 right? Long history? kid go home. Shooters have been around for 30 years. As for being worried why? Play the game if you want to play it. If you don't then don't. I'm getting tired of this idea that people want to turn the games they play into who they are. I don't expect any game to exist for more than a couple of years. I played League of legends from Beta to season 4 and not once did I have a care about how popular it was at any given moment.
You are not your job. You are not the games you play. You are not the brand of clothes you wear. You are not the amount of money you have. You owe nothing to any game that you play, and it exists simply to entertain you as a consumer.
You alright there bud? At no point did I relate myself to a necro'd moba. As a 32 year old man I have a bit more depth to my character than pixels on a monitor. Not sure how I could compose something like Paragon into my identity.... Especially as a casual player looking for new outlets of enjoyment.
I've been playing those 30 year old games for a long time. I will play the game how I want to play it??? but what does playing the game the way I want to have to do with the environment the game is having an issue maintaining? Games life cycle is common knowledge which is why I am a bit sadden to see this games cycle not getting a proper shake. Again I am confused on what you are even aggravated about. Seems you have gripes with someone else or just don't like being in debate of a games community short coming because thats what this post is about. I played League for a few years in the 2010s and also played Heroes of Newerth which I actually liked more... Sadly it was shutdown because it couldn't compete due to low numbers and lack of follow through with the community.
"You owe nothing to any game that you play, and it exists simply to entertain you as a consumer."
My point exactly the game entertains me, but won't exist because their are not enough consumers. The shame of the original Paragons demise was people didn't know about it and players quit before they could learn.
Happy New Years bud take it easy.
-P.S. I am a comic fan to point of my core identity..... but that's just when a hobby turns into a lifelong passion. Nothing wrong with a little consumerism as long as its healthy and makes you happy.
