Overprime or Predecessor?
So as the title says. Both looks fine but which one i choose. Used to play OG paragon. Can you give good and the bad of both? Some say that Predecessor is at better state and better reviews but it costs now till the EA is over and Overprime is free but the cash shop and character unlocking seems so ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Overprime.
Predecessor - its just like a mobile game. No dynamics: running, invisibility zones, cheap item icons. Predecessor - not free. Yes, you need to buy characters in Overprime, but the currency is given for daily tasks. There is no problem in this. All donations are cosmetic.
It's more like Paragon.

How in the world do people play Pred and think its more like a mobile game than OP 😂 the only thing it has in common with paragon is the heroes and travel mode, the pace of the game is completely different

Initial thoughts - Tried both but predecessor feels better overall compared to the glory days of paragon but it is earlier in the games development and roadmap life. Overprime did feel like a 5v5 team deathmatch mode with a couple of hinderances- smelling like a money grab for ANY extra content ( already has in game currency and locked skins heros while in early access- are you more focused on selling skins or making a great game first) ,graphic quality, towers ,sprint mode , and getting rooted if hit. Also the portal is dumb first match got a revenant down to a tick of health and he jumoed through a portal had no clue where it goes. BUT i couldnt follow him- how is that good game design just camp near the portal to escape with a get out of jail free card out of trouble when you get outplayed with no followup and punishment. The portals also make things like split pushing or trying to take objectives solo very difficult until later game because the map shrinks from the sprint mode portals and abilities /items.

Overprime- for a cheesier team deathmatch version. Have a tutorial which is nice and many more features to checkout already. Overprime if you want to play certain characters that have been released but not yet on Pred. Closer to the finished product but not as nicely polished. Not satisfying taking objectives or getting kills. If you taake a tower its likely only because the respawn timer went up too high not becasue you got rewarded for playing well. and teamfight are just who can get close enough to spam abilities quicker not as much strategy as with pred due to move speed item balance ability balance and travel mode.

Predecessor - better moba feel and better quaility gaming experience with controller support too. the heros and overall match and abilities oacing timing and balance are vastly superior. It feels satusfying working and taking a tower or getting a kill or escaping. ( In ovverprime you make one mistake you get deleted even very early game and its basically how fast can you spam your abilities once you knock them out of travel mode) Fewer heros although feel more well polished and the passives make their kits tie together more than random abilities.

Basically Pred gets the nod and believe it will be the better higher quality game to play once it becomes fully fledged with features and heros, while overprime is good for a quick teamfight / team deathmatch focused (with balance issues) fix or check out if you are a beginner for the tutorials or want to play certain heros not in pred yet.

Overprime is the furthest thing from Paragon, when you compare it to the other games. It plays like a team death match brawler. Anyone saying that Overprime fells like OG paragon, tells me they never played OG paragon. Played paragon day 1 of release and its not even comparable.

Now that i have played both. Op is far more casual fun than pred. Pred is full of sweats so when i get off from work and i want to play few quick fun matches, i take Overprime. Yes Pred feels more like the Og Paragon but i aint having fun in it at all anymore.

Overprime. Predecessor has almost nothing in comparison to Overprime.
Their biggest point is it runs on UE5 whereas Overprime is on 4.
They have no ranked, no progression, no match history, no AI mode, missing several server regions, has an AWFUL item shop, the UI is disgusting, etc.

Predecessor is a niche community with an average of 1-4k. EA launch they hit only 7k. Where as Overprime was pulling 30k+ in the Final Test and 25-30k during this launch that just happened.

Easily without a question, OP. The #s don't lie.

Stop pretending that Overprime has a ranked mode that matters. You need to own 12 heroes, if you get the 5 for free this week that's 7 more you have to buy which will cost almost $50.

What's hilarious is you completely ignore the fact that one game can be tried for free, the other requires a $10 buy in. Of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ course the free game will game more players, what kind of dunce would think otherwise?

But if you want to talk about numbers not lying let's look at reviews. But then you'll cry about "Pred fans" or whatever because you can't grasp the concept of people having a different opinion than you.

Also, as somebody who played Paragon during the invite-only closed alphas...so many of you are just straight lying about your experience with Paragon lol.

Damn, I like OP, but watching people simp so hard for that horrendous "free" content grind is laughable. It ain't free if it costs time or money. And in that sense, Pred is way less expensive. It's $10 for 25 heroes, not $10 each. And each Hero in OP is 6 days of grinding. lul
SIX DAYS OF GRINDING..??? IVE ALREADY UNLOCKED 2 HEROES AND IVE BEEN PLAYING A FEW HOURS MAX BRO.. LMFAO.

Intentionally being dishonest to back up your point is pretty pathetic. You'll get 5 heroes in 5 days, after that it will take about 6 days of grinding per hero. So in 4 months you will have 25 heroes...conveniently the same number of heroes that Predecessor players will have in 4 months, except we only had to spend 10 dollars, don't have to grind, and had 20 of those 25 playable on day 1.

I talked MAD ♥♥♥♥ about Omeda when I learned they were charging for the initial early access. At the end of the day they made the superior product, the reviews reflect that, and you're just a fanboy trying to cope.

For a guy who claims others can't take people's different opinions, you sure do have a way of showing you can't take other people's opinions w/o making excuses. Self awareness eludes you my friend. I don't care for the reviews, I play the 2 games and make my own mind up. As everyone should. & yes reviews can be biased as hell. Its a F2P game so anyone can review it whereas a lot of people who would give Pred a negative review, aren't only b/c they are gated by the $10-15 (depending on currency). Half the negative reviews are from people who have less than 2hrs in the game. Some genuine reviews ofc but not all of them are. & you'd be a fool to think they're all authentic and non-biased reviews. Again, IDC if you disagree with me or other people who like OP more. You guys are the ones coming to this game's discussion boards to try and sway people out of desperation. Not me.

Yes and who knows, maybe they'll have another 5 to unlock as daily rewards next week. Not to mention most people are not spending $50+ to get more heroes, they're just grinding the game, doing the challenges. Hell I have a buddy who put in not even 2hrs in the game only, and he's already unlocked 1 hero. So thats 6. Already half way there. Again, who knows once this reset happens and they add more login daily rewards. Yea it takes a bit to get the 12 to unlock rank, sure. But Pred doesn't even have the mode implemented, so even if it takes 2-4 weeks more, who cares? I doubt Pred will have Ranked mode implemented anytime soon. Also, if you even played LoL (I know you havent cause you made this point), you'd know you had to reach a certain hero pool AS WELL as being lvl30 JUST to unlock and play ranked. Speaks to your knowledge of MOBAs, you clearly don't know how other games operate and how normal this is.

I never ignored the fact 1 game is free and the other has a price tag to play. I pointed out population and thats it. You're the one who needs to specify this, again not me lol.

Yea I can say the same thing about a lot of people who claim OP has 'no laning phase'. If you've played any traditional MOBA, you'd know ganks happen and often at the earlier moments in a match when an ADC is weakest. And during mid game/late game, you are SUPPOSED to move as a team, especially when you go up against the 5 on the other team. There are some things I dislike, such as the portals and not feeling like the Prime Spirit/Guardian is rewarding enough. But besides that, fun as hell.

If you like Pred so much and its such a good game, why are you even here? Go play your game. If reviews are so night and day like you said, more people will flock to it despite the $10-15 right? Or maybe they realize OP has the more content right now and will switch over later on. Who knows. But the funny thing to me is that you're so desperate to change or convince people you came to the rival's discussion boards to do so. If you had confidence in your game, you wouldn't need to do this.

Also, grinding doesn't = bad. Many MOBAs have done this, in particular the most popular being LoL. You start off with a hero rotation and gain heroes over time JUST by playing. No RMT required. Stop trying to spin that as a negative, when its a very normal thing for most games. You'd also know this if you actually played a traditional MOBA like LoL/Dota before stating such a stupid point. Seems like you only played Paragon, know nothing besides Paragon or how MOBAs actually work.

Anyways cheers, feel free to reply since I know you can't resist. Last reply on this thread since its just a circle jerk of Pred players vs OP players.

To everyone trying to decide; watch some Pred streams or content if you don't want to pay the price tag just yet, or pay the price tag, experience both games & make your mind up. Don't rely on anyone in this discussion board, including me.

Can you give some reasons why would you recommend it over overprime?
Controller support is one massive reason I can think of. If this doesn't apply to you, ignore this particular reason. Also, I believe I have heard that champions are $30 to unlock in Overprime.
this is a lie... ive been playing for free since launch and already unlocked 2 champions for free in Overprime

Paragon died back then because Fortnite launched its Battle Royale Mode... it died due to lack of promotion and development which was focused on Fortnite instead of Paragon sadly...

Gonna be honest with you, I'm not reading all that, you're trying way too hard lol.

I really don't understand what this "more content" you people keep talking about is. A ranked mode that barely anybody will be able to play any time soon? A few more heroes? A stupid 5 minute tutorial? What is this content and why is it so important? The bulk of the game is the same for both: a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ moba. Right now OP has one thing over Pred, and that's more active item slots. Paragon had 4 actives and 2 passives, OP has up to 6 actives, Pred has just the 1. I like the evolving starter item in Pred but having that be your only active item is a little disappointing. A lot of people feel this way and I wouldn't be surprised if that's changed at some point. Ranked is on the roadmap, monthly new heroes are on the roadmap. It doesn't guarantee the schedule will be followed or there won't be delays but it's not just a "soon™" thing.

LoL charges for heroes and has the ranked requirements because it can. There are how many champions in LoL now? And how many given to you for free? And how long has that game been around for to build up that playerbase? Dota 2 is just straight free, over 100 heroes all free. Paragon followed the Dota model, Pred is too(don't forget, EA wasn't free in Paragon either). OP is trying to go the LoL route without having the justification that Riot does, this is problematic and not a good look.

But I guess we can just sit here and continue pretending there's some sort of war against OP by Pred players as if both games don't have fans who are toxic(these are mobas after all lol). Besides, OP players can easily buy the game, play a match(if even), write a negative review, then refund it. Yes, it can be refunded despite what a few dunces were out there saying lol.

I love it when people get into arguments online but have so little good faith they will not only ignore what someone has to say if its too long, but use its length as an attack
