All you need is know:
- Agora was big, beautiful and, probably, unpolished.
- Monolith was small, ugly and unpolished too.
Pred is definitely more polished version of Monolith. It makes things, that Epic screwed up, are much better.
OP is came with Agollth - a beautiful map between Agora and Monolith. It keep Agora mechanics and introduce new features.
And yes you should pay for Pred, Op will be F2P. Don't know about paid heroes.
So far Predessessor is more Legacy Paragon - the stats based numbers, boring item store and less action gameplay.
Overprime LOOKS like it's more New Dawn Paragon - more action / combat brawler based with dynamic abilities, like escapes, dodges, stuns. I LOVED New Dawn Paragon witht he card system, some people hated it. Looks like these two are going to be two different niches and it's going to depend on what Paragon version you liked.
Personally Im liking the look of overprime but we will see. For me Predessessor is a serious let down.
After watching a lot of overprime it has exactly what I wanted from a new Paragon, and didn't get from Predessesor. Im not trying to dunk on Pred, it's just not the Paragon I wanted. I think they BOTH can carve a niche for themselves. It is polished, but it is more reliant on stats/items and numbers versus the New Dawn Paragon of abilities, skills and twitch gameplay. Granted I havent played Overprime yet, but watched a clip of my girl Serath using her fly and escape abilities, basically exactly from Paragon. It's what I wanted.
Pred is basically DOTA in 3rd person view, and that is totally fine. It's just not what I personally wanted from a Paragon clone and Im a bit dissapointed with it. Like I said I think both of these can survive, because they cater to the two types of Paragon players, the ones who loved Legacy and the item store, and the others who loved New Dawn and the card mechanics.
Wtf Pred is Well polished and there are no legs. Wtf do u playing? Smartphone?
There just isn't any rubberbanding and therefor you might think there are no lags (even the devs said there are and they're working on it.... with the excuse it's early access).
