The settlers on windows 10

I have the cd, but it won't start. any suggestions to fix this problem?

I have bought the CD version too just for the expansion pack (Full Game included). I will see if i can get this working for you guys I have ordered it and it should be here soon. One strange thing! Alright. banking on you, if you can't fix it ill just cross my fingers and buy the game off of steam for some nostalgia :)

I got the DVD with settlers and when the games patched to latest version it breaks the game. Before pathcing it works fine.

Ok, this is what to do:
1) Download this SettlersHoK.exe from here - http://www.filedropper.com/settlershok
2) Go to where the game exe is installed (for example - "C:Program Files (x86)Heritage of Kings - The Settlers\bin").
3) Make a back up of the origional/vanilla "SettlersHoK.exe".
4) Paste & replace "SettlersHoK.exe" with the one you just downloaded. (for the expansion pack just do the same thing into the "extra1bin" folder)
5) PLAY!
