The settlers on windows 10
I have the cd, but it won't start. any suggestions to fix this problem?

I will have a go at this and let you know, Download direct X 11. Get Dx11 from here https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=17431

Also you will need to set the compatability for win XP.

Nooz doesnt work yet. Downloaded directx11 and installed the settlers again, set compability to windows xp but still wont start :\

If you have a CD see if gamer shell or ubisoft have patches, or run comparability wizard.

I'm having the exact same problem with my disk I bought when I was 5-10ish. I managed somehow to get it to work on windows 8, but the new windows updates have screwed it up. Now when I launch the SETTLERSHOK.EXE it does nothing. I reinstalled, downloaded patches, changed compatibility, and even attempted to register the product on my Uplay account (but says its invailed).

I may try downloading directx11. would be really nice if I can avoid buying the game again on Steam.

By the way, the link only takes me to a presentaton on directx11. I've found a download page for the actual directx, but I need to know how big the file size is (got a limited download usage see).

The Above download is 96mb, this is the one i installed. I even got the CD version of Halo CE working on Windows 10. Give it a try and see what happens.

I downloaded the direct x11 and installed it. Yet the game still won't start. Do i have to do anything with the direct x files after installing them?

For instance, when i search dxdaig and it tells my computer settings, it still tells me i run direct x 12
