Just had the same issue.
Hi teefietean, onabutternutsquash and nobsterthelobster
Our apologies, we're really sorry you're experiencing this annoying bug.
We've been trying to reproduce this issue without success, although we know it exists. Would it be possible for you to tell us the sequence of choices before reaching that moment at the end of Day 1 - Frank? (path and interaction chosen, and any details you can remember). It should be an easy fix but we're struggling to find when is exactly happening.
Thanks in advance for your help, and again so sorry for the inconvenience.
Cheers,
ETA: Reinstall solved the problem!
ETA 2: Now unable to move past the puzzle immediately after Drake enters the Orphanage - it's solved, but the screen doesn't change and the transparent aiming line is still there. Reinstall didn't work this time.
I'm not really certain since it has been a while ago, but I remember skipping everything optional (aka not doing the crosswords and checking out the lava lamp etc.), picking to clean Drake's room and fixing the window. I'm sorry if this isn't helpful!
So I think perhaps my sequence leading up to the journal was probably typical enough or at least overlaps with a lot of people (and testers)
However possibly my usage of the journal itself though was a little strange. I have a feeling I kind of darted between pages a bit trying to find the points of interest and arguably didn't necessarily go in the natural order or sequence the game intended. Unfortunately I'm afraid I couldn't possibly give you the exact flow of key presses though.
As bad as it sounds, If the bug is this elusive, you might just have to add some kind of skip button just to allow people to continue the game.
Anyway best of luck with the game. Left you a positive review regardless.
I've chosen to fix up the room, fill the boxes, and take the gun.
