Han Solo Table - Is the crane broken?
After spelling SMUGGLER and getting the ball up the left ramp, the table goes into the magnetic crane mode to drop the ball into the right secret compartment. Hitting three in a row gets you an award, but every time I activate the mode, there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to controlling the crane, at least not with the more precision controls experienced on the table in Pinball FX3.

The table guide says to use the flipper buttons to move the crane in the X/Y and to hit the launch button to drop. The left trigger moves the crane to the right and the right trigger moves the crane forward. Not only does there seem to be a delay, but the crane goes on some sort of autopilot and moves itself back and to the left, making a precision drop impossible.

Am I doing something wrong here?

The crane seems very difficult and unreliable to manoeuvre, I don't think you're doing anything wrong. I'll have to schedule some time to test the FX3 version to see how it compares.

I could be mistaken about FX3's controls. I owned it on a console I no longer have, but even looking at videos online, it doesn't look like anyone is having any difficulty getting the ball to land in the right place, let alone 3 times in a row to get the shelf reward. Lookin forward to your eval on FX3

I briefly tried it on keyboard and found it similarly difficult, though the camera view makes it a bit easier to line up the drops.

I wonder if analog triggers make it far easier to operate. i.e. light press for gradual movement. However when you're tapping any hesitation will make it retract.

I usually find myself leaning way over to really get in there to line things up in VR, but that control (or lack thereof) makes it kinda fruitless.

Hi jedimasta and Matt! Thanks for the feedback, I wrote a report to the team about this!

Happy to help. Even though the experience hasn't been perfect, it's nice to know the devs are listening
