insults are unecessary and show the impatient and factless argument you really hold.
i asked a very simple question and it keeps being answered the wrong way
if boneworks has a sequel coming out, and has an official video game company that happens to be pretty big and also made duck season reboot that's story ties to boneworks, why would such a sophisticated and skilled entertainment company get a gun from freakin unity assets?
they obviously made their own weapons because if they got a gun from unity assets that wouldnt tie to their own game and it literally wouldnt make any sense lore wise or in general, they even show the guns they were working on in the boneworks trailer in 2019.
highly unnecessary to call me an idiot and not even think of the most blatant detail boneworks shows, that's like apex legends using a unity assets ak-47, it makes no sense.
a big game company has to have everything in it's entirety to be 100% canonized and developed by the team, otherwise copyrights and legal battles could and would happen.
and if boneworks team could make the most sophisticated physics game of 2019 why in the world would the be like "yeah uh dave, just go on unity assets and gimme that eder22"
they're not a small indie dev team they know how to make something as simple as a weapon, my baby brother could do that in Scratch IO and Ms paint.
Now after some time before anyone has replied I came to realize Boneworks in game models (guns, items, playermodels) are rippable from the game for sketchfab or some model app. so the dev for this game just did that, which is fine because this game is a sandbox not a legit huge game and that's fine, beforehand though i thought it was a boneworks ripoff but in fact it's a boneworks inspired game WITH someof it's items, which is cool and a good start for an indie developer to start a game making career.
The items you're referring to are not "Boneworks items" they are unity assets created by someone entirely disconnected from both Boneworks, and Sport Mode.
It's not a rip off, because Stress Level Zero didn't create the assets, or physics-based game play in general.
While they play similarly, they are each their own game. No rip-off to be seen.
For example, say I'm a modeler, and I made a crowbar model. The unity game engine has a store that I can upload my crowbar model to, and charge people money (or not) to download my crowbar model straight into their game.
I have nothing to do with Boneworks, or Sport mode, but the people behind each of these games can pay me money to use my model in their game.
Also I have no idea what you mean by "official game" and how that immediately means that SLZ made all of their assets from scratch.
Also the example you used doesn't work because Minecraft and Fortnite both created their own assets, and never sold them for anyone else to use.
Again, let me repeat, MOST OF THE ASSETS USED IN BONEWORKS WERE NOT CREATED BY SLZ.
SLZ likely purchased some of the same assets that Sport Mode purchased, especially considering that they were making similar games.
