Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle is a game that tries many things, but unfortunately fails at all of them.
The game is a survival horror that mixes Resident Evil with F.E.A.R. and a bit of Dead Space, but the experience quickly becomes frustrating, tiring and the whole game is a huge bore.
But let's look at the negative points of the game, if you wish:
- The game only has two weapons, which is really amazing and shows how combat is not the focus of the game and only 3 types of items (ammo, health kit and the useless charge for the N2) making the existence of an inventory unnecessary. And the "final boss" is one of the most annoying I have ever seen;
- The game only has 3 types of enemies: a normal melee one, a ranged one and a slow one with one hit kill, and that's it! The game never evolves beyond spamming the same enemies in rooms where cardboard boxes are solid obstacles, 3 melee enemies run towards you while the ranged one attacks from afar and the slow one suddenly teleports behind you and tries to kill you, that's the summary of the combat in this game. Also, when you get hit you are rewarded with a QTE to spam [space], that's the cherry on the cake. And let's be clear, the game is very easy, just annoying in combat;
- There is also a special mechanic, the N2 spray that is, most of the time necessary, to kill enemies. It turns out that the N2 spray is super OP, you can literally play 90% of the game without firing a single shot, just running from enemies and freezing to death;
- The game is simply linear and that's it. It even likes to keep throwing "false forks", the kind where when you turn the corner your path will be conveniently blocked by empty blue barrels, cardboard boxes or gas cylinders, of course, that makes sense since the focus of the game is its plot but... about the plot;
- The game's plot is simply very weak. It starts as your classic military plot, then goes to the classic abandoned laboratory, "what am I fighint for!!!", war is bad so I kill to avoid wars, the president of the USA needs to know this! and ends with a generic anime cliché;
Daymare 1994 tried to innovate inspired by great classics of the genre, but the result was frustrating, making the game boring to play and without anything exciting, while Daymare 1998 is not a good game, but Daymanre 1994 is certainly a bad game, avoid it, there are better games of the genre out there.

O jogo é um survival horror que mistura Resident Evil com F.E.A.R. e um pouco de Dead Space, mas a experiência rapidamente se torna frustante, cansativo e todo o jogo um grande tédio.
Mas vamos aos pontos negativos do jogo. se assim desejar:
- O jogo possui apenas duas armas, o que é realmente incrível e mostra como combate não é o foco do jogo e apenas 3 tipos de itens (munição, kit de saúde e a inútil carga para o N2) tornando desnecessária a existência de inventário;
- O jogo possui apenas 3 tipos de inimigos: um normal de melee, um de range e um lento de one hit kill, e é isso! O jogo nunca evolui além de spamar os mesmos inimigos em salas onde caixas de papelão são obstácuflos sólidos, 3 inimigos melee correm na sua direção enquanto o de range fica de atando de longe e o lento do nada teletransporta para atrás de você e tenta te matar, esse é o resumo do combate desse jogo. Além disso, ao ser atingido você é recompensado com um QTE para spammar [space], essa é a cereja do bolo. E que fique claro, o jogo é muito fácil, apenas irritante no combate. E o "mestre final" é um dos mais irritantes que eu já vi;
- Também há uma mecânica especial, o spray de N2 que, na maioria das vezes, é necessário para matar os inimgos. Acontece que o spray de N2 é super OP, você pode literalmente jogar 90% do jogo sem dar um tiro sequer, apenas correndo dos inimigos e congelando até a morte;
- O jogo é simplesmente linear e ponto final. Este até gosta de viver tacando "falsas bifurcações", do tipo onde ao você virar a esquina terá seu caminho convenientemente bloqueado por barris azuis vazios, caixas de papelão ou cilindros de gás, claro, isso faz sentido pois o foco do jogo é seu enredo mas... sobre o enredo;
- O enredo do jogo é simplesmente muito fraco. Começa como seu clássico enredo militar, depois para o clássico laboratório abandonado, "what am I fighint for!!!", guerra é ruim então eu mato para evitar guerras, o presidente dos USA precisa saber disso! e termina com um cliché de anime genérico;
Daymare 1994 tentou inovar inspirado em grandes clássicos do gênero, mas o resultado foi frustante, tornando o jogo um tédio para se jogar e sem nada empolgante, enquanto Daymare 1998 não é um jogo bom, mas Daymanre 1994 é com certeza um jogo ruim, evite, há jogos melhores do gênero por aí.
