how do I go past the Fire Wall area?

I brought 2 Ultimate-level monsters (Lillymon and Blue Ultrakabuterimon) and the Meteormon in the fire wall area two-shot both of them. I tried sneaking up to the gateway arena to find Taomon but there's 3 digimon that chase me whenever I get close. Do I have to wait for my partners to die and be reborn?

Holding B (or whatever cancel is bound to on keyboard) will let you run. Despite looking like little more than a jog, running makes you ever so slightly faster than any of the roaming mons in the game, so as long as you don't get cornered and they're not blocking a narrow path you can sprint by them without fighting.

You generally want to be cautious when fighting Ultimate and higher Mons at any point in the game, as they tend to have access to VERY hard hitting moves that you're simply not going to survive without the defend command or massively out-stating them. Get it if you haven't, you'll need it sooner than you think.
