Cant enter character name

I cant enter character name. Keep saying I can put 12 letters name. Any idea to fix this?

Had the same problem and had to rename from "Marlluxie" cuz It triggers the message and is.. obviously less than 12 (9 to be precise)^^ so I don't know what is the TRUE limit too :/

I tried it and it gave me the error message "You may enter up to 8 letters". Maybe it is a localisation thing? Because the input field does take 12 letters so maybe some translations just assumed 12 would be the maximum. Or something else caused the disconnect, having a 12 character field that only accepts 8 characters IS pretty odd.

I try to use some diferent names, more than 8 characters and less than 12 but didnt work so I surrender and use the default name -.-"

Have you tried a name with LESS than 8? Because as mentioned, I got the error that it can't be more than 8.
