Fresh Digivolution Question

So I understand that for Fresh Digivolution (which I will now refer to as FD), you get small stat bump for every Digimon you evolve into that you haven't had before. My question is, does this work retroactively? Or does the skill get worse the longer you go without it?

My thought process is that if I don't pick up FD as one of my first tamer skills, I instantly begin losing out on stat bumps that I would otherwise get since I'm early in the game and my evo-tree is practically empty (I unfortunately didn't realize this until I had dumped into other important skills (like the stat inheritance skill tree)).

Love to hear some thoughts.

Almost certainly not but the loss should be minor anyway, your stats can only go up and the loss of increased base stats on rebirth due to taking it late will be exceedingly small. I wouldn't worry about it. It def won't matter when you get ner max stats and those single digit gains become less than a percent of your base stats.

Yeah, pretty sure it doesn't work retroactively, but the stat boost is probably not that big anyway, so don't worry too much about it.

Might still be worth getting it relatively early though.

Honestly I wouldn't bother with getting it early where as the egg ones tend to retain some value. Those are small boosts going from default 10, to 11 to 12 to 13 to 14 percent. But they add up over time

It's not even worth expending points this early on something that small. May as well either focus fully on Training or Combat. I, myself, went for full Combat training.
