In any case, what you said didn't make any sense because you're contradicting the developers themselves who have announced that this was a new feature of the game, so it was something easy to check.

Yeah that’s my bad. I was just going off my memory and I was sure when I was holding circle that I was actually going a bit faster. Sorry about accusing you of lying

If anyone wants to speed up further and is not averse to using 3rd party tools, the game is compatible with Cheat Engine's Speedhack option. Makes traversing large areas and grinding for stats so much easier at 2x-5x+ speed.
