$60 for a 7 year old game?
Are you serious Bandai Namco?

It's now $9.59 on PSN lol

Apparently, the fanbase expected Bandai to just GIVE them the game for free...

Small wonder no one's ever heard of Digimon, and just talks all about Nintendo's little franchise.

That is missing the point. People are upset that an old game is being released at triple-A pricing. Those concerns are legitimate because

1. The fanbase of the series itself is not strong enough to justify such a price.
2. The game is old.
3. Bandai is releasing this port, in order to grow the popularity of the series. The prices are setting up high barriers to entry which discourages potential new players from trying out the series.

Such a pricing strategy is self-defeating. If you want to find out how a series was successfully popularised in the West, look at how the Ryu Ga Gotoku series was priced. Sega brought seven ports to Steam in three years. Many of the games were priced around $20 and widely distributed on sites such as HumbleBundle for just dollars.

The result? A large number of players tried out the series, it grew on them, and RGG7 became the best selling entry in the franchise.
also more expensive than the double port from 2019 and the new video game from 2022

Played this on the PS4. Terrible price point. Wait on a 80-90% sale. Game was mediocre at best IMO.

Sheesh, would you like Bandai to just pay you $100 to take the game off their hands, while you're at it?
No game in the world needs a price cut that extreme.

I wait for the 100% sale

$60?? it's only £40 here in uk =/

If you want to get it cheaper i'd recommend this site, never had an issue with them and their prices are always cheaper https://www.shopto.net/en/dwnld75277-digimon-world-next-order-p1177776/

Only 50 bucks here, but still gonna get it idc. Digimon is one of the only franchises that I will buy games from for full price.
Soup Bone Feb 21, 2023 @ 9:21pm
this game is a grind, people who paid 7 years ago probably still breeding to beat the game. BHAHAHA.
Sage Pirotess Feb 21, 2023 @ 10:56pm
Chump change game. 28 dollars. Same as atelier ryza 3. Both, I earn more in one hour. So nb at best 1 hour work for 28 dollars game.

Saying that should w as it fir 10 to 20% discount. To many games in backlog.

And bandai expected us to give them full price for a 6 years old game and goes for $10 on PS store on sale.

NGL I agree with OP on this one, paying $50 extra for a game because it just came out on PC? What were the thinking even releasing it at this price???

We got games like Metroid Prime Remaster blowing remake/remasters out of the water selling for $40, but this thing is basically a port and is $20 more??? Yeah, No thanks.

a 6 yr old PORT of a game, that goes on sale for $10, and people are defending this behavior????

Ok, what the actual f*** is going on with this prices, like a dragon ishin is the equivalent of 70$ dollars in my region, This is 60$ and it's more like a remaster than a remake
Some idiot developer sold a game for $70 and now others are following their lead, idk why
BSoD Feb 21, 2023 @ 11:53pm
Yeah, I also agree that it should be much cheaper than that. Most games that get ported to PC several years after the original release are generally sold at least 20$ cheaper than the original price, or have added features or better graphics. If the game doesn't really change and is simply a port, 60$ (50€ in europe) is injustifiable, especially in such a niche genre and fanbase such as Digimon.
Heck, even Digimon Survive, which is, you know, a NEW game, is cheaper. God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn, which are bigger budget games and way more popular AAA experiences, are priced the same.

I hope the modding scene develops quickly and creates good mods such as support for 2K and 4K, QoL features, better graphics, and new digimon.

Just a 3% of my salary.

Worth it.

Nah, it's really expensive, I understand the situation of you all.

In 1nstant-Gam1ng this game should be sold at 35€, but they haven't keys and haven't any clue if they're gonna come, so... Bandai Namco, do something or you are gonna lost clients xD

As a huge Digiman fan, already owning this on Playstation, and would love to buy it again:

Nobody here is expecting ANYTHING for free, I am pretty sure that most people understand how the world works.

What's hard to understand is why a 7 year old game that was originally released on the Vita which is a handheld, charging brand new AAA pricing?
Laen Feb 22, 2023 @ 12:42am
Pricing is awful. Is $75 AUD, would buy it for $34.95 tops.
