Notes: Tbh my only real complaint is that it's a bit light on the content, and the S ranks for the main missions are a bit too easy. The only decently challenging S ranks are for the 3 survival missions. Having a scoring system without leaderboards but then also having in-game ranks that are too easy to max out is unfortunate, feels like a waste. Would like to see S+ ranks introduced that force you to play on hardcore mode, or something along those lines.

Took me about 3 hours to 100% the game

Here we go again,... I LOVE the idea of this game. I HATE the character control. Getting stuck to EVERY flippin' surface you touch is so frustrating. I LOVE having wall climb in a game, but not in such tight quarters. Speaking of tight quarters,... The platforming is obnoxious in this game. I get having a challenging game. What I do NOT get is, "unnecessarily convoluted",... Putting items in areas you cannot get to without taking damage is just completely obnoxious. The control of the character is awful when jumping, which is basically most of the time. After playing through the demo, I thought, "This game shows promise." Then I purchased it and now I am having buyers remorse. Once again, a great idea for a game, but released when it seems unfinished. Is there no dash? How is one supposed to maneuver through some of these tight platforming areas with damaging spikes with only a janky jetpack to use that the player has minimal control over when pressing the jump bottom to use? This title could definitely be very cool. It needs a LOT of work. I am pretty harsh with my reviews, but I tell it like it is. The game needs work. I can come back and edit this review if the game gets much needed patches. I have a hard time with games that have letter grading systems. Don't like it, especially when the game is so janky and the controls are so bad. Other than the aforementioned, the music is great, the color palette goes very well with game concept, and the overall idea of the game works. The levels are just TOO tight in relation to the size of the character and it makes the gameplay very frustrating and not much fun. I always say, "If you're not having fun, you're not doing it right." In THIS case, the only way to do it is not fun. Either it needs better control of the jetpack, like a hover option, a dash option and wider birth in passageways, or some of these damaging spikes need to go to give a player half a chance to at least ATTEMPT platforming. Not having anywhere to platform to is just terrible game design. I truly hope this review hits a nerve and gets some much needed changes added to this title. I REALLY want to keep playing to find out more of the story line. But the game, as it stands, is far too frustrating, unnecessarily convoluted and just not fun to play.

Fun twin stick, not too long or hard but solid all around. In particular, shielding to reflect bullets/pogo on spikes and max combo evolving your weapons stood out as cool mechanics. I'd recommend this game, but honestly not at full price, 10 USD is steep for the runtime of the game.

It's sad that this game is not more popular - it's rather amazing and deserves way more attention from all fans of hardcore platformers. Adding a limited shield that you can use to jump on spikes does wonders to it's gameplay loop - combining it with wall-jumps and double jumps is insanely fun in "easy to learn, hard to master way".

Great ideas, mediocre execution.

The screenshots look nice, but the graphics effects and animation are actually underwhelming and feel like a student project. There's not much juice to it.

The feel of movement screams "my first indie game". While it is somewhat precise, it just doesn't flow well. You get stuck on corners or miss jumps in a very tight window with spikes that take 1/4 of your HP per hit. You can shield yourself with a shield, but it takes dexterity since the shield runs out very quickly. The shield is also directional, so you have to move one stick and hold LT to jump while simultaneously holding the right stick in another direction and RB to shield. Now, this could all work if you were given enough leeway. I didn't expect this game to be Meat Boy or Celeste and having to repeat each screen multiple times. Especially since controls are nowhere near precise as in those games.

Enemies with shields that force you to use melee are cheesy at best and annoying as hell.

The bullets just don't feel powerful. For a game where destruction is the way to win, the audiovisual feedback you get is... well, meh.

Comparing this to something like Broforce or Dead Cells, the action feels sluggish. I'd give the game 6/10 the most, and since 7/10 is my threshold for an upvote, I have to give the thumbs down. I was considering whether to give a vote at all, but it definitely doesn't deserve the 95% rating it currently has.

I guess you could buy it on sale if this is your type of game, but only if you have played all the rest as there's nothing special here.

i like the artstyle , campaign it's not so long
it takes a while to get used to the control scheme
there's lot of platforming (some kinda tedious) not so much sword/gunplay
bosses where kinda fun so my review is (neutral) positive
