This is a lovely change. This makes placing towers nicer, requiring fewer clicks and menus when visualizing range.
As a suggestion, my wish for placing towers on top of walls is to be able to change the targeting when I start the upgrade. I often won't notice when a particular tower finishes upgrading from a wall, so the targeting doesn't change until I notice it's built and check its targeting.
"Nerfed armor regen"
I use a lot of blast towers, so I usually don't notice armor regen, but I expect this change will help you balance the waves better.
I see you listed the wind knockback cooldown.
What is the cooldown for lightning? Not as comparison, just so I know better how to place those towers.
"Nerf to research speed, now takes 10% longer"
I expect this to be a good change. I often found myself running through research much faster than I could accommodate with people unless I took the researcher off duty.

Ohh yikes, I think that button registering issue is likely a byproduct of upgrading unity UI toolkit versions, I'll see what can be done.
Great game, apologies in advance if i've missed something obvious.
Unfortunately, before this patch, I wasn't saving if you had built a victory statue on island 4. The easiest way to unlock would be to load your island 4 game, and destroy the statue and build a new one to unlock. Alternatively if you have beat a wave 5000+ on island 4 it will also unlock.
Is it a complete rebuild required?
You were correct, it would have required a rebuild. BUT - I just pushed out a hotfix so you should be able to load that game again, finish the statue, and then be able to move on.
(You may need to relaunch steam to get this update, it sometimes takes steam to up to 30 minutes to auto-find updates).
