A chest for storage in the taverns please
Hi,

Instead of abusing the game mechanics using chests we have to loot and leaving one item there ( usually i just drop a single unit of a flower so i can then use the chest when i want and store all the stuff i don't need to carry with me, it avoids me to pay and feed an army of ponies to keep all that i may need later in the game )

So, instead of this method, could we not simply have some missions given by the tavern's holder, let's say 3 to 5, bringing nothing as gold for reward, but once all mission done, he or she become our friend and allows us to store things on a chest ( similar to the camp one ) that he keeps in the tavern.

Just need to add a chest we can click in the tavern's scenery and voila. No need to do this in all taverns tho, just a few, spread around the final map once we will have all regions released.

This will make the game way more enjoyable, right now we have the choice to extend the ponies army to no end or sell weapons, armors and various resources to keep a decent sized army of carrying ponies...

Thanks in advance.

Question: Why would you need a chest? I mean, i never keep resources not used. And if i dont see any soon use for them, i just sell. Simple.
For example, there will be a time iron ore is useless, so why keep it? And once its not that much useless, i use them. Keep using resources or sell, dont keep everything just for keeping.

Anyway, be safe.

Hi and thanks,

For example special weapons we get, or good armors we find around the map or when meeting merchants, belts we loot and don't need yet, right now there is some i don't need as my mercs troop is only 7 guys and do not cover all classes, but later on I'll probably extend it so I'll have weapons, good armors and belts ready to equip them.

Plagued leather, right now there is no use for it, i have to carry all this with me because sooner or later they will be needed and as infested rats nests not respawn we might be short on this later on.

Same for all the things we need to create poisons, oils etc, like infected blood, red eyeballs, etc

Wood, iron and such resources indeed there is no need to keep loads of them, but sometimes it's hard to find some when you need them, so i like to keep a little ammount of them in my stash for when i need them quickly. Most important is weapons, armors, belts and alchemy resources tho.

;)

I see your point. I think they could add a chest but with a really limited weight capacity. Otherwise it would kill the management and ponies mechanics.

Maybe 30, or 50 max.

And for that to properly work, they should fix the container exploit, which was probably a oversight.

On my first run to complete the game i had as many ponies as i had mercs, 7 of each and even like this i was always throwing things out as always limited, then on the second run i discovered the chest storing mechanic, i have now 7 mercs and 4 ponies, probably a fifth soon, storage in random chests for me is abusing the game and i don't like it but since there is so many things i want to keep for later and don't know how limited those things will be in the future... Probably we will have better weapons and armors once levels get unlocked too but we don't know much yet, anyways there will be new special or boss weapons too.

As for the size, yeah it shouldn't be unlimited, but 50 seems a bit low, i mean each plagued leather is like 0.5 if i recall correctly, i have close to 90 so already 45Kg... the special mace and axe weight 3 and 5Kg, one heavy armor 5 and so on... i'd say 100Kg max will be very nice.

And like i said you should do quite a few hard missions to unlock this feature in a tavern, so it wouldn't be available from the start and will require to progress a bunch in game first and obviously fix the chest abuse but tell players before they do such update fix, so they don't loose everything stored there.

somehow i think a feature like in one of the older baldurs gate games woud be great where you coud fix a garrison (for a big price in build resources) and use it as base and workshop for your companions. woud make more sense than dragging around a tinker bench, a reading table and a leader bench for example.

If your going to leave things at the tavern you should have to pay rent for it. Same if you are going to build a home base to store things, you should have taxes to the locals, bribes to the guards, a chance that bandits will raid and rob it while you are away and take everything.
That would also be my fix for the chest abuse. If you leave it behind someone else will take it.
