Battle Brothers is a close relative to it, there's also that Tale of King Arthur or whatever it is called, though I've only seen it mentioned by people myself.

Divinity Original Sin 2 isn't realistic, but it's the best turn based RPG out right now until Baldur's Gate 3 is finished. It's one of those games you HAVE to play before you die.

It goes on sale very often ($12-15). Keep an eye out for it. Seriously, do not leave this plane of existence without playing it. Best game I've ever played in 30+ years of gaming. :)

D2:OS takes a very particular kind of player to enjoy. Personally, despite being a fan of D&D and everything related to it at the time of playing, I've undoubtedly had the worst experience in any game I've ever played due to how inconsistent it was, from the combat to the characters and story.

Unfortunate for you, not many people feel the same way. It's one of the highest rated games of all time for a reason. 150k+ positive reviews on Steam.

I honestly find battle brothers to have a better game experience than wartales, even though it has worse graphic, smaller world map. The mercenaries in battle brothers are much more unique, unlike the generic mercs in wartales.

ughh

those graphics though. It took a friend 6 years to get me to play 7 days to die cuz of " those " graphics.

cant some1 make a good game WITH good graphics ?? and not charge $70 dollars for it like D4 or BG3 ?

Hey. You looking for sword & shield type of game only? Story heavy with fantasy or pure medieval? With guns?

No preference really, decent graphics, decent story and semi realistic-ish.
Fantasy is fine just no anime style leaping/flying massive weapons.

more PC style then console with all the rolling dodging and timing, being left handed i need to remap all the keys and some games make that harder than others.

Like Project Zomboid with crafting building but graphics from at least the last 4 centuries would be nice.
Im tired of EA games where they have great potential but you have to wait 7 years for it to get good.

hack and slash is fine, D4 is good, SCUM with a team that has ANY amount of direction would be amazing.

ARK like that wasnt a full time job to maintain a base.

RdR2 that wasnt over run by children who KOS

turn based or live doesnt matter. The suggestions so far have been good and i appreciate them.
And a game that doesnt cost $100, i have the money i just hate playing 4 hours then never playing again.

Well not sure whether you'll like it but these are some of my favorites. No EA. Maybe check it out for info before buying. We all want our moneys worth. Nothing wrong with that.

During WW2 & Post WW2 - Silent Storm & Silent Storm Sentinel. TB & tactical.

Planet Alcatraz - set on a different planet - RT with pause. Combination of melee + og guns like flintlock to MGs + end game - blasters & railgun. Got stats & quest + side quest. Humor is wicked + some wacky Russian translation to English.

Planescape Torment - Melee & magics. High fantasy. RT with pause. Some serious/ominous & funny recruitable party members. Very story based. Got romance between main & female party members.

OG JA & JA 2 - you run a merc group attempting to win back an island & return a fictional country to stability. A bit of finance + militia management. Some mercs don't get along & will leave. Some does & gives morale boost. TB.

FOT - BOS perspective. Good tactics + post apocalypse. Can have up to 6 or more crew which includes deathclaws/super mutants/reavers/humans. Get them in stages according to the campaign. Uses S.P.E.C.I.A.L. for base skill. Melee unarmed/ weapons & guns including energy weapons. TB or RT. You choose .

BG 1 & BG 2 - total high fantasy. Got elves/gnomes/ the whole yard for said genres. Got romance between main character & party members

Just a few. Check it out. Go through their wiki for more info. Decent graphics. Not high end requirements. Good luck.

Stoneshard is turn-based late medieval mercenary game with great pixel graphics and great gameplay. Still in early access and long ways to go, but replayable with plenty content already. It matches Wartales the closest in tone and mood. The only major difference is scale since you only control one character and the beautiful 2D visual representation of Stoneshard.
