[Bug] Infinite gold / chest tinkering

My mate and me play in a coop mission.
We looked for ways to increase tinkering / spend wood + ore.
We wanted to craft a camp chest. Compendium showed that we hadn't built one, wisdom experience was to be awarded for our 1st crafted chest.

Here the problem starts:
1. Band can only have one chest, so we had to sell our initial camp chest to a vendor.
2. Sale complete, chest in vendors inventory, coins awarded.
3. Joining back into camp mode, the chest reappears. It is also removed from vendors inventory

Besides never bing able to craft a chest, this loop provides infinite coins.
Any ideas on how to craft the camp chest?

Single player.
You wont be able to remove the chest in multiplayer, as it's the only way to trade items between players.

even in single player i never seen a wisdom award for the camp chest.
for MP its like spawnling sayed, you cant get rid of the chest there in vanilla.
