SECOND WEAPON - How do I equip it?
Would someone be kind enough to tell me exactly which buttons do I press/what do I do to equip a second bow on an archer (on pc). I have tried everything I can think of, looked up the missing documentation (not), looked up shortcuts, clicked everywhere, all to no avail.

That is not even an option AFAIK.

Assuming you've take the level 10 skill, the weapon swap is an option on your action bar in the combat screens, ie, when you select your archer in a fight, there's an icon for weapon swap which allows you to change from currently equipped weapon to another that's in your team inventory. Personally I've never found it a very useful skill, except where you might want to switch from a fire/mud bow to a regular one

If you have the skill you'll see an icon in the top right of your weapon.
Click to switch and equip a 2nd weapon.

Excuse me but doesn't the second weapon have to be loaded onto the character first? How? If I carry a second weapon in the inventory, what do I click on to access it, please?
This is why there should be a manual for this game; I try and fail over and over. :-(

See screenshot above.
Top right corner of the weapon equipment slot has a yellow arrow.
Click the arrow to change to the secondary weapon loadout.
Equip the weapon. Then you can switch between the two weapons during combat for free.

If your warrior has reached level 10 and has chosen the "Weapon Change" skill, then by clicking on this warrior you can equip a second weapon from the inventory. But keep in mind that you CANNOT give a swordsman a two-handed sword if he is armed with a one-handed sword. You cannot give a warrior with a one-handed weapon a two-handed weapon. Yes, this is sad, but this is maintaining the balance between the player and the AI. At the same time, the second weapon gives additional tactical diversity due to two more oils. With the first weapon you can inflict additional damage, and with the other weapon you can either finish off the enemy or heal with healing oils.

OMG! When I clicked on the switch arrow, the same weapon showed in the weapon case but I expected it to be blank so I thought that I was doing something wrong (stupid?). I have LMB a weapon and Presto! it appeared in the weapon case. Why isn't the case empty when one clicks on the arrow? That way I would have known that it was ready for designating a second weapon. I guess that I don't play enough games to recognize the lack of positive results. :-(
Onward to new discoveries!
Thank all y'all for your help and I'm sorry that I'm so slow with the pick-up.

Maybe you equipped the same weapon by accident?
Festung Sep 21, 2024 @ 7:56am
No, I didn't click the same weapon by accident; I didn't click the desired weapon that was in the troop's inventory (which was distinctly different) because I thought that the switching didn't work for me because I hadn't done it correctly. The ghost of the initial weapon is in the original spot but (and?) the selected weapon appears in the fly-out slot which contains an image of the original weapon.
I sure wish that this game had a manual.

I can see how it can be confusing, when you have a two-handed weapon equipped the off-hand slot is still visible.
That said, the main hand slot is empty and your character is shown empty handed.

Yes, the old 'if-and-but' logic.

I have no clue what if and but logic is supposed to mean, but I'd like to know if you'd care to explain.

I never cared to look at the off-hand, so I never had an issue with the grayed out weapon image in the off-hand slot.
You never cared to look at the main hand, so you didn't see that it is empty.
Festung Sep 23, 2024 @ 12:11am
If you click on the arrow and the slot is empty, then you can select a suitable weapon to assign to that slot, but if there is an image in that slot then you cannot because a weapon is already assigned.

what they should implement is a dual wield weapon feature.
