So, what happens if you pick Lieutenant side in the conflict?
After the battle the ending is the same. I created two saves to see if the decision influences in the next quest but it was the same in both cases.
I ultimately chose to side with the scholar's since I got a bad feeling about the inquisiton.
What a let down, game kinda has potential to carry over decisions from other regions to new one, but its rarely happens and affects like one encounter
During the fight against the inquisitor you have to protect 4 scholars from 3 waves of enemies.
Afterwards they say the machine is built by the Ancients, they have to understand it better in order to control the storms.
There is a difference. If you were only allowed to side with the scholars on the last mission of Drombach it's because you didn't complete enough scenario objectives in favor of the Inquisiton. I make hard saves before and after each region so I can load back and re do the scenario. Your choices in previous regions would also have determined who the new ruler of Alazxar is.
This game does have different outcomes for the regions. For Drombach it's very picky. If you want to side with the Inquisiton at the end then you have to side with them throughout the scenatrio quests. For Tiltren even though I sided with the locals for almost every quest, I still could have sided with the Edoranian refugees at the end; with Drombach you have to commit to one side throughout.
