Can't load COOP game

Anybody having this issue? Me and my friend started playing COOP game. Wanted to continue today, but we are unable to load the game. Can't join him, he can't join me.

We can start a new coop game just fine, but loading up a coop save file doesn't work.

Darn... sorry for the necro and to hear that you never got a fix to be able to play the game. It seems like its really fun but impossible to really get into it when you can only play for one sitting. It's like trying to play through all of the mario games without having the tubes to skip ahead lol

Yeah it was kinda sad for me and my friend. Then my friend got hooked and finished the game solo so I never tried to fix it in the end. Not sure if I'll ever go back to it, maybe someday :D

Same bug, The coop save looses the coop flag. Not sure what to do, the invite code then stops working.

My friend and I encounter this issue after nearly every play session. We found a pretty straightforward workaround.

Go to Multiplayer > Load a single player save > Select your save file. It should allow you to invite your friend and actually restore your respective units to your control. That works for my friend and me at least.

on ours it wont let us load that save file at all we can see it but load is grayed out the only options are delete and cancel :(

That is seriously a bummer. It's wild this issue still hasn't been addressed after all this time.

I noticed this note in today's patch: "Fixed old coop saves that couldn’t be loaded since the last Community Update." Did that fix your save file?

We play on xbox so haven't gotten the update yet but that is super promising! We also found a work around for our game that seems to be working so far. We are playing with ironman (so only ever one save file) and whenever we go to save we stop moving and make sure nobody has any maps/inventory/characters open at all and nothing is being interacted with at all and then save. I'm not sure what exactly was causing the bug but we sort of figured out it seemed to trigger when the host was attemping to save and someone else was doing something at the same time and the game would get confused and think the host was the only person there and it would be a single player save but with 2 people in is and then you can't load it multiplayer but you can't remove the second player and make it single player either. fingers crossed this keeps working until console gets the update/fix. But I'd love to hear from PC players if this patch note did in fact fix the issue <3

PC-player here! ... and YES, it is fixed now. We can load old co-op-games and play on.

Not fixed on console yet sadly, friend of mine just lost an almost 80 hour save o_o hopefully console gamers get update soon
