how do you eat food and camp

I have been in "camp"for 2 days and still have the zzzzz?Also cant figure out how to eat food

Click on campfire, left click food to move it to table till counters numbers match then rest. Also have wood to keep fire burning through rest to get 1 happiness.. Click Pay if it is time to pay.. Click REST...

As you progress you will unlock options to craft more equipment for your camp (click the table/work bench in your campsite, and browse the tinker craft options) the more important early game camp upgrades will be things like the cooking pot, tent, and hitching post.

Once you have a cooking pot for your camp, make sure you assign the cook profession to one of your team, and then assign that cook to the cooking pot(but dragging that character against the cooking pot, you'll see the icon above it change from 0/1 to 1/1 once they're successfully assigned) by doing that, you'll reduce the food consumption for your team each rest.

There are other bonuses available for assigning other characters to the different camp items. By keeping your ponies assigned to hitching post, their carry capacity is improved, having a companion assigned to work bench will provide a few raw materials after each rest, etc.
