what kept you playing so long? can you please share?

Sure.
The storyline is limited. You can finish that easily.

But the real adventure is what your guys do. You can focus on anything you enjoy- eg be a travelling fisherman and sell your catch.

Be a roaming bard, singing on tour round the kingdoms, and assassinating on the side.

I had a blast capturing boars, fattening them, and then butchering them for meat- a literal Pig Farm, just to see if it could work to make money and it did.

We had a squad of only wolves and an archer. No pony. Light fast and tricky combat.

I built a band of face painted cannibals in skins, only axemen. A Legion of spearmen, handling military contracts. A Goon squad of backstabbers and poisoners.

There's a zillion ways to play.

For me the replay value isnt much since prior to this last update all dungeons and arenas were 1 and done. Maybe thats changed who knows.

The initial game is alot of fun but once youve been there done that its about it for me.

You could try different builds and different teams i suppose but the maps are all static.

The heroes are all in the same place, the story lines the same everytime.

Initially it said there were gonna be like 32 areas and that ended up being 7 i think, not sure what the future holds but imo, its worth playing 1 or maybe 2 times and then wait for hopefully more areas to be added.

Love the game just not enough to put in 1000 hours

Only 7 areas?
And all static?
It's little more than a tech demo then tbh

Let me guess, the rest will come as DLC which cost 10€ each.

cant say, i know they have a roadmap theyve recently updated but after my initial play through even 1 more area isnt really enough to get me to re install it and even check it out.

Thats just me though, that other person loves it, everyone has a different opinion, check YT for the latest vids and see what you think.

I have restarted this game multiple times - each time the introduce a new region. I find it very repayable, and fun to see if I can get a perfect start and get into the Snowballing as fast as possible.

Well then I just want Prisoners back with skill trees :P so can collect pokemons again.
Heck give Creepers and Civilians their skill tree back, and make Plague zombies mercenaries controllable again.

Then you got tons of variety to mix match your team. and combat doesn't seem only Kill all.

So if they do stop adding sections and DLC, who cares about endgame balance.

We are 40-50 hours into our campaign and close our 3rd region soon. There is a lot to do and explore.

Arenas are replayable, there are lots of combinations and playstyles. Game is well worth it, esp. with friends

*face painted cannibals in skins*

like in Rimworld or only in fashion, without really interacting with the bodies at all and just for own role playing purpose?
