so does loot change definetly, example if you killed all the animals and humans escape.
Then the chance of the human you let go, will not drop their loot.
But if I kill them all, the loot doesn't increase either, just different chance of picks from those extra you killed.
So basically it is a confusing answer,
No the Loot amount does not change, the loot table does.
The only real reason why you might choose to let them flee is if one of your mercenaries is afflicted with lots of bleed, poison or burning and you don't want to risk injury or death. It's the only time I think it's the smarter decision, otherwize I kill every time for the experience.
You also get points towards the Power and Glory Path if you let enemies flee. It's the Magnanimous counter. You get Path Points (PP) for every 10 battles you win without killing everyone. So it is actually worth being merciful if you are trying to still gain levels in that Path.
