Iam interested in it as well. Anyone? My main question:

Do we HAVE to START a coop world, or i can jump into other's world with my character, or how is it works?

U start of as u would in a single player game choosing Ur starting bonus and people , then u choose who u want to control .
So u are starting a new game as a coop .

That doesn't explain much about co-op at all.
Can you enter battles separately? Can you join mid-battle separately? Those sorts of things.

Is it like old school CRPG games where everyone shares the same screen, but controls different character, while the host makes the main decisions, or is it more like Divinity Original Sin 2, where each player can move around freely and enter combat on a whim based on detection ranges (if you run far enough away where no enemies can 'detect you' you go out of combat).

WarTales, in some footage, you basically travel on a world map or in a town map, and battles are generated 'worlds' you spawn in... So there's no fixed 'world' that you can freely move around and combat in separately from one another. Still don't know if you can say have two separate warbands.

You can control your movements on the map separately, but you cannot go far from each other. As already mentioned, it's like a single, but in a co-op. One becomes the owner and creates a game, inviting other players, you divide your characters as you want among the players from the starting ones and start playing. The leader is considered the main player, so only he makes the final decisions, but allows everyone to participate, that is, he simply waits for everyone to confirm the action of the squad, because. in fact, I have not yet met any RPG elements with a choice of fate, except to join one side or another in a fight, but this only affects the reward, I have not completed the game, so there may be exceptions. The main player can also skip waiting for confirmation from other players and take action immediately. In terms of autonomy, there are no discoveries here, you walk on the map separately but are tied to each other by a certain distance, reaching which you almost stop. You can join the battle, enter the city, enter the buildings in the city, organize a camp only when you are nearby, if one of you is attacked, then the battle starts immediately with all the players, since they are considered one. Everyone can collect resources and search corpses and chests on their own. In battle, you control only your units, which you have chosen at the beginning or during the game, you can transfer units between players outside of combat. In battle, everyone can control their units when your squad is on the move, who goes after whom, you decide between the players. You have your personal inventory and the group's shared chest available at all times, except for combat. Regarding saves, it says that the game is cooperative and which players were in it, I did not try to invite other players to the same save and I think this is impossible. Also, as far as I understand, it is impossible to launch a co-op game being solo. The downside of the co-op system in this game is that you have to re-invite players every time you load the game, this is very inconvenient, other players can be knocked out of the game for various reasons and you need to re-invite them. The only case where, with a 50/50 chance, other players will not fly out if during the battle you choose to replay the battle, then they can stay in the game. The main player is responsible for saving and loading the game. During the resource extraction mini-games (theft, iron mining, fishing, crafting, forging, etc.), the player who controls the unit that has the required profession will go through this mini-game on their own. That's all I could remember about the co-op, I hope it will help.

It really isn't. It honestly feels like you're playing singleplayer where 2+ people have to agree on doing every single action and aren't allowed to walk more than 5 steps away from each other because otherwise they'll die of exhaustion or break the game and be unable to do anything.

While it's true that you have to use the same shopkeeper and be relatively close to each other, the game is still a great co-op experience. We've been having loads of fun so far and if you just communicate with each other it's easy to not engage with vendors or anything if another person needs to sort their inventory or something similar.

Yeah, we liked the game too. The net code was a bit rough and I guess very dependant on server load, in "rush hours" it was almost unreal to control your troops for a second player. And there were quite much downsides and unthought-out moments overall and for multiplayer in particular. Devs do many fixes, updates and changes of mechanics on the fly during one playthrough so it sometimes feels like a roller coaster. We started to play during EA and finished playing after couple major patches after so one day you play, next day part of the rules and balance changes. :-D I'd gladly give devs my feedback but I guess they are pretty big and succesfull enough already not to listen too much of wishes. And ofc they have their vision of what the game should be. Aaaand I already finished the game on 99% and I won't come back for another run cuz I use to squeeze the game on maximum during 1 playthrough and don't like to come back to finished projects. But the game is definately worth playing. It can be frustrative sometimes but the game is very cool, especially in co-op. I'd give the first part of the game 7 of 10 and second part of the game 6 of 10. But it has much to improve and very many mechanics to make them deeper and richer.

Does anyone know if you can have crossplay the Steam version with someone on either the Xbox or Windows GamePass?

I have GamePass and would like to play with someone who has the game on Steam.

Can't help, we both played via Steam.
