If I were to start anew, where would the Skelmar Invasion sit?
I was planning to start a fresh save file, because I did novice + novice difficulty for my first playthrough. Although it always can be changed, I'd like to experience the whole ordeal with experienced + experienced difficulty.

My last purchased DLC was the Pirates of Belerion, and I accessed it after beating the whole original game. Will the Skelmar Invasion be like this? So like the order will be Original -> Belerion -> Skelmar?

Also, the tavern DLC, from what I saw in the DLC, and my experience playing through the game, won't the band be starving for money, sustenance and gear? I was playing through Novice the first time round but even then I was not having that much spare money to initiate trade routes when it was unlocked. Like, in terms of timing, won't this have to wait until I'm very late in the game? Or will it scale properly?

Any input is appreciated! :D

The correct order of passage, in my opinion:
Regional mode;
1. Tiltern or Artess or Vertrus.
2. Ludern, Greenmir.
3. Belerion, Ormans.
4. Drombach.
Adaptive mode.
1. Tiltern, Artess, Vertrus, Ludern, Greenmir (everywhere equally difficult)
2. Belerion. Ormans. (Access to armor layers not earlier than level 8)
3. Drombach - final. (the most serious opponents.)

I've never heard of Greenmir and Ormans, so I'd assume those two are from Skelmar Invasion DLC? I've played the vanilla version and pirates of belerion, so judging by your sentence Skelmar Invasion should be played in tandem with the vanilla. If this is the case then maybe I'll just start anew to experience the whole thing how it's meant to be.

Anyone knows about the Tavern DLC though?

I'm relatively new to the game as well (got it last week) but I tend to deep-dive into things.

Tavern DLC makes things a lot easier. It's really hard for the tavern to not make lots of copper. The Tavern then provides additional income (you can get 100 free krowns every three rests. It is possible to liquidate more copper coins but it changes the exchange ratio), free recipes, and free food (you get a free specialty food every rest, which is worth 14 food. Thus it seriously reduces your krown and food needs.

Although some people don't like the Tavern DLC, others (including me) do find it fun and entertaining.

The tavern makes so much copper later on that even with the lowest conversion rate of 1:13 IIRC you will make an extra 300 krowns per day which eliminates the money management part completely.

Yeah my tavern has over 30K copper right now and I’m not even in the largest one yet.

Yeah but then the total count won't be a clean multiple of 100, which upsets my OCD sensibilities!!!

I'm not sure if I would be happy or sad to hear this, lol. At one side the Tavern DLC would make the game overall more balanced in terms of money management early on. But then that also means the DLC is needed for the balance to exist. Oh well I'm grabbing it then. Thanks a lot guys!
