Good high level weapons are almost inexistent.
Since we can't craft high level equipment, when the group is high level (level 15 for example) it's almost impossible to find good high level weapons. We are basically limited to legendary weapons that can be upgraded, but I would really like to have the option to upgrade the highest tier of crafted weapons and not be limited to legendary weapons. We can loot good rare (yellow) armors, but the weapons sucks.

Yeah, would be nice to have some better options.
Apart from the legendary and unique rare upgradeable weapons I only use "normal" rare bows and the Brotherhood Cestus.
Edit: Haven't tried the new 1 handed sword, but combined with the new shield and the oil that heals for 20% damage you should get infinite attacks on a critical build.

This sword is not upgradeable. When it gets to the player, the player defeats everyone without this sword. How to get a guaranteed critical hit in the middle and early game? Armor layers, from Belerion and Ormans, they are only for level 9 armor. If this sword worked from the "chance of killing" and was upgradeable, it would be in great demand. The captain is a swordsman, goes last and finishes off opponents with this sword. But as it is, the sword is uninteresting at high levels. Like the shield. It's sad. They should have already returned Kopis Mehit back to the Tomb of Tiltern. At least it helped to farm Valor at the beginning of the game.:steamfacepalm:

Crit Chance:
25% from 5-star Chaos Path
3% base crit
5% from Duelist Trait
3% from Bloodthirsty Trait
2% from Will attribute
2% from Helmet
5% from Armor
45% from Belerion Armor Layer
12% or 6% from Profession
Total: 96- 102% Crit Chance without putting any points into critical hit

Level 9 is taken for approximately two regions. This sword Ulfarax Ulfberth actually gives infinite basic attack.

Does the loss of HP not count as a massive downside? Or do people don't care about survival?

OP talks about late game. You talk about ealry to mid.
That's two different things.

The loss of HP is offset by Conversion Oil (50% chance to restore 20% health when using a skill that deals damage) and Soothing Oil

No :steammocking:.
Serious answer:
- Conversion Oil heals for 20% of the damage you deal.
- The new shield from the tomb reduces damage taken (up to 50%) and increases damage dealt based on missing health.

->Your critical hits only need to heal for more damage than 25% of your health.
The lower your health gets, the more damage you deal and the less damage you take.
At some point you'll reach a point where you heal at least as much as you lose.

Hmm, I didn't consider that. Still, I am so risk-averse...

Thanks for the clarification. So this seems like all-in build where every build choice is there to support that one sword. Again, I prefer more conventional approach. But I guess I'd have to try before judging.

Haven't tried it myself yet, but in theory it should work out.

I tried it. It works. I had enough movement to kill 8 people. That is, I was limited only by movement.

How much HP did you have left - percentage-wise?

I didn't lose any health at all. I healed with every hit. I only lost armor.

Infinite basic attack, for an infinitely moving swordsman, with 100% crit. ;))

To be fair the new level cap literally JUST came out. Give it some time for more updates and I'm sure additional max level gear will be available
