scent of betrayal quest

Hi, short question.

In Gosenberg there is the quest "scent of betrayal", there u need a boar/wolves etc to sniffing at the hat.

I cannot find the track to find the son? Is it a bug or am i blind?


Normally when u make a hunt, u see the blood on the floor. I thought it looks the same with the Hat.

I had a similiar problem with the blood trail from the mine. Had to load a older save cause my party suddenly became invis. When i loaded back on the save, the trail was gone. Is this the 2nd part of the prodigal son?

Im currently stuck trying to find a clue in his home. Found a clue about the Artist square but nothing updated about the quest. Got any tips for how you got past this part? :D

Yes, found 1 small chest 2 bigger chests and the bookshelf. Got the clue about the Artist square, but nothing can be done in that square and the quest marker is still around the manor

Found your answer. There is no "sent trail". When you get close to the location where the sent is present, the location will bellow a similar purple haze to the hat.

There is no scent to follow, and I couldn't find it neither after leaving the artist square. I was expecting it would be something similar to the hunt but apparently not.

I'll say this much. It's in the city and don't overthink it. You will know when you find it. There was a hint as to where he may be, if you've paid attention; but, it is not necessary to find the next stage.

After you finish talking to Adelise at the theatre, right behind her you'll see a tiny purple hat. It's pretty hard to miss, because the outline of interactable objects is purple too. Once you click that, you'll need an animal in your party to "sniff" it. Then, when you leave the theatre, you'll see a purple haze you can follow.

As of 1.0 release, the polar bears will not work as sniffers.

There is a purplish cloud that represents the scent, If, for some reason you cannot see it, you can simply proceed to the destination to which it leads. If you know where to go, you don't actually need to follow the scent.

Hint: where do you think a womanizer like Lyderic is likely to be found? There is a building in the area that will stand out as the place for someone with such proclivities. If you simply explore normally, you will figure it out.

I sniffed the Hat with my Bear and it a purple trail happens to the south where you get into a fight at the brothel.

The hat doesn't get the outline when you show interactable items. imo if you didn't know it was there, the dark purple hat is very easy to miss.

Also, dominant sows count, but plague rats don't.

edit: I meant to say *easy* to miss.
