Fans going crazy and in game stuttering

Hey everyone anyone having issues with the things mentioned in the header? I just installed the game again after along time and Im getting both stuttering and my fans are going on and off constantly. Any ideas on fixes?

Use OPEN GL ... the NVDIA drivers are still not optimised, while open gl the drivers work if you have a off the shell Graphic cards . (so not the RTX numbers that are most sold)

Ok I gave that a try and wasnt having the stuttering. Any idea about the fans going on and off. And thanks Drake

Yes had the same problem in standard mode.. and infact it is damaging for the GPU ..
Cause it is bottlenecking and damaging the cooling paste , somebody did a test 1 month ago said it was the NVDIA drivers.. but I had that problem from Alpha already till open GL solved it. the graphics aren't that heavy on CPU or GPU ...

Sorry if you have that issue stick to OPEN GL , do not risk it , cause you might short out the graphic card. and do a restart if your fans spins on and off and check your connectors in the rear of the computer. if that get hot, then better not risk playing anymore.
It isn't worth a graphic card (unless you want to buy new one)

After a restart try OPEN GL .. first , see if that solves your problem, if not then don't bother.
As you said yourself it isn't worth a graphic card , definetly not if you are on a gaming laptop :P

I just had the game crash on me twice and reset Windows 11 not sure if going Open GL will fix it but will give it a try.

Hmm, NO problems here. Latest nvidia studio drivers. 32gb ram, 6gb 1660 super graphics. amd 3900 cpu. Windows 10. Pretty good fan cooling.

Maybe allow game files in security/av?
Use Process Lasso (free)?
Drop graphics settings to minimum, try again?
Set game to high priority?

How long are you playing before it crashes?

I didnt have any issues for most of the game aside from occasionally low fps which is due to my aged comp with 980ti. However now in last 2 areas and especially in Alazar i have a lot of issues all of sudden with screen freezing after going black and blinking for a bit, sometimes switching from borderless windowed to borders and the resolution going down a lot so the box is small.

Screen is black but pressing buttons makes noises so it apparently works in the background.

I just got another crash PC in Open GL looped 3 times before it booted again. 13700K
and 4080 MSI DDR4. Just updated Nvidia drivers. I'll turn the settings down once since I'm running a 1440P monitor 240hz.

I took off my side panel on my case I think that was the problem just Heat plus it's hot out.
I lowered the settings in the game and the game looks better as well lowered to low or mid and went down to 144hz just for the sake of it. I played 20 minutes now and no crash.

It may help to clean the computer case and internals. Unplug power, take a 'canned air' and blow out all the dust, clean the screens, and if possible wipe down any dusty areas. You may be able to adjust fan speeds either in BIOS or via a program. Fans whining away is not necessarily a bad thing, but components overheating definitely is bad.

Game still crashes with side panel it might be the controller I'm using isn't working with the game. Using a X-Box controller though Steam seems when I press a trigger button the PC resets. Was playing for about 30 minutes before another crash and reset.

I'm going to redownload the game since there are like 3-4 windows opening up while I launch the game.

Hmm, that's strange. I don't think I have more than one before the game loads. I chose the regular option, not OpenGL.

Have you tried switching to the regular keyboard/mouse option?

Yeah like 3-4 windows open up not sure if it's because I'm using the Open GL mode. Not game windows just white windows then the game loads.

Might just be my controller crashing the game.

This might be one of those situations where you'll want to open a ticket with the devs. They may have an answer already.
