Enemy Fleeing VS Not
So, I haven't tested it much, but is it a good idea to not allow enemies to flee? In most cases, I don't need to. My team is doing very well, and I stay to take the rest of the mobs out thinking I'll earn more EXP, items, etc. Is that true? Are you rewarded with more by killing the entire squad of enemies (makes sense)? Or does this not matter, and letting them flee is fine. I always stay to kill them all, especially when fighting animals, because I'm worried I'll get less meat and hides...

I always murder everyone until I get the title for it, it gives you 1 morale more per kill making galvanization much faster. After that I let them go to end battles quickly

Yeah, I'd like to just let them go so the battle ends quicker, but I wasn't sure if that meant less loot. Like... if I'm fighting 10 boars. If I kill 8 and let 2 flee... will I only get 8 boar meat VS 10 (had I actually killed all 10 of them)? Or... is the loot determined based on winning the battle. I guess it isn't that big of a deal considering I'd only miss out on a couple items, but I was just curious.

Most of the time I don't let them escape. Nobody gets to live! :steammocking:

I weigh it based on action economy. If I have 3-4 people taking turns before the enemy, I'm definitely killing everyone.

I would assume loot/experience is based off of bodies, but I could be wrong.

Yeah, and I'm greedy LOL I mean... most of the time I'm dominating in those battles, so I stay to just slaughter everyone, but I figured if the loot was based on winning VS the # of bodies... I could just save time and let them flee. I'll just keep killing everyone LOL

experience seems to be based on actions a character has done. I noticed the characters that use up all the moves regular and valor seem to level up faster than the rest of my team. For loot I guess we would have to do some testing.

It depends on my mood. I must have been a Roman emperor in a past life.:steamthumbsup:

In other games, if you let the enemy go, you don't get any experience for it, but I would like to know if it's the same here.

for me killing feels unrewarding. u kill 8 guards and get one weapeon or armor only animals give u more based on their number.seems like its still better to mine etc and craft ur own stuff.i relly hoped for the battle brothers feeling of looting

Just to point out that when this was originally posted the pathway system was way different. You now get points on the power and might pathway for being "magnanimous" so it is worth letting the last couple of enemies go particularly if they're tough scumbags who might damage your troops. With animals I'll still always kill them all to ensure maximum meat and leather - this is especially important with ghost packs as you don't score pathway points under mystery and wisdom unless you kill the nightmare

pd the path is no strong enove matter to let potential loot run away, specialy because there is also a path reward for killing everything merciless, and teh path where you get points for let enemys run is already the nearly fastest filling one...
