Pro Tip: Store your items elsewhere to reduce carry weight!
In many locations there are containers that do not classify as stealing when you take items from them. Those containers may be used to store YOUR items (as long as you leave 1 item behind). The game will remember all items left in the containers.

However once you remove everything from one of these containers they may never be opened again, so always leave something behind if you plan on using that as storage later in the game!

So far I haven't found any storage limit in these containers so I have been stuffing them with surplus crafting components and spare weapons that I do not wish to carry around with me.

You're welcome! :lunar2019coolpig:

You're Welcome guys! :)

I have a few more tricks (possibly exploits?) that others might not know but I've since burned out after 80+ hours and will wait for the next 1-2 major updates.
You can use traders as material storage as well. The traders will always keep all the materials you sell to them and the good thing is if you buy them back each material just costs 1-2g more than you sold it to them. This way you can sell materials without a second thought really since you can always buy them back if needed.

but that´s not the case for weapons or other stuff except materials (and this are mostly the things you want to save and maybe tryout later)

No one brought it up but this is also the best method to hide your "stolen" tagged merchandise so the guards will not find anything on you. ;)

Yep, I use the innkeeper as a spare weapons and armor depot. But the idea of storing say, carcasses for the rack to use later, or all that ore we mined is pretty good, never considered it before.

...I just keep buying more and more ponies. Extra food purchases are helping me burn off the stupid amounts of money I end up with... I also tend to hold on to everything. Like, I could cut the number of ponies in half, easily, if I didn't insist on carrying around so much useless junk...

Not sure about you... but I had 10 ponies in my last run and still run out of space easily. Crafting materials are so heavy (wood/iron/etc) and I love stockpiling trade goods for long trips.

I trade, somewhat. Will try to work it so I get a 'take x to y' and a fight at the same time, same direction. If I'm moving areas, hah. About the only time I change regions, actually, is if I can get a trade mission. And, only the items they have in stock, so 50 weight total doesn't impact too much for me. Use it more as a little boost to income, not that it's really needed even on hard/hard.
And crafting materials I usually burn off after I get a few stockpiled, basically if I have enough to craft at least a few times in a row. So they don't stack up too much for me.

i carry large loads of trade goods... not just a single 10 weight load from a single trip to merchant... i buy and stockpile as much as I can carry then trade in larger quantities :D
